In memory of Dr. Jan Krason, I am dedicating (along with some other remarkable people) my new set of digital UTM WGS84 maps. These maps will include almost all of the earth, with the exception of small portions of the poles, and will include multi-lingual tutorials for those who wish to learn how to generate their own. I would really appreciate someone undertaking the Polish translation, something that Jan would have appreciated be done in his honor. While the first maps will be topographic, the second will be bathymetric, the third geophysical, etc. This will probably be the first set of comprehensive world maps at a usable scale free to the public, openly available over the internet. The project is actually a software and data exchange alliance, so eventually, people will get the software to view, combine, analyze, etc., the maps. Dr. Jan Krason was a remarkable man and a remarkable scientist, who deserves to be remembered in such a meaningful, modern, concrete fashion.

Dr. Jan Krason was a fine man, a fine scientist and a fine geologist. Our profession has lost a great leader.
