I had the pleasure of working with Joan. We had many similar interests and talked for hours at a time. She was an avid HGTV watcher and made her own stained glass! I remember her trip to Egypt and how much fun she had. She always had funny stories she would tell with her dry sense of humor. This would make the night go by quickly. She loved her twin boys so much. She is greatly missed. My prayers are with her family. Sincerely...

I have worked with Joan on and off, at Methodist hospital for the last 9 years or so. One story that sticks in my mind was when about a year ago or so, we were working the nightshift together and it was not uncommon for the staff to order out for lunch. I forget from where we ordered, but I do know that joan ordered a beer with her meal. It turned out to be an alcohol free beer (O'Doul's), but it still made me wish I had thought of it first!

Joan will be be missed.

I have known Joan for sereral years and have worked with her as a staff nurse on 3n and also as a resource nurse. I have always seen Joan with an upbeat, positive attitude while working alongside her. She will be greatly missed but God felt it was time to call her home. My prayers go out to her family and especially her sons. I pray they stay strong and rely on God for their strength and comfort during this time. I will forever cherish the memories of having the pleasure of knowing her.

I worked with Joan years ago when shwe was resource and I worked on 3N. She always made me laugh and picked up my spirits to help get through the night. She was so proud of her boys and talked about one enjoying chess. I have missed seeing her and will always remember here ready smile.

Joan and I started orientation at Methodist on the same day for the Resource Center in 1996. We spent the next several months learning the ropes side by side and I have to say that I have always held a special spot in my heart for her ever since. Of course the one thought that sticks in all of our minds is the pride she held for both boys. You were the reason she was here and we are thankful for the countless hours you had to share her with us. Joan had a special direct, get to the point and say it like it is attitude and she made a special contribution to all of the patients who she touched over the years. May your family find peace and tears of happiness in the year to come as you feel the love she shared flowing from above.

Joan Stoddard~ How do you put into word what she meant to her family, her friends and those thousands of people she helped and cared for in her career? She will be missed greatly, and don't doubt that people will be laughing in her memory, because she was in fact hillarious, and we loved her for it. My sympathys to the family, may god guide and keep you through this rough time.

I was a student nurse when I met Joan and found her to be a knowledgeable and compassionate nurse. She taught me many things my first few years as an RN. I looked up to her as a coworker and as a woman. I loved hearing stories about her parents, her boys, their dog, and all of the adventures they shared. Her hard work and dedication has inspired me over the years and I will miss her greatly. I am truly blessed to have known her.

Joan shared her RN expertise with many units at Methodist Hospital as a Resource Nurse. Joan had a great sense of humor. She lit up when she talked about her twin boys and how proud she was of them. She will be missed by many but while she was with us, she made a positive difference!

I had the sincere pleasure of working with Joan for many years when we were peers in the float pool on the night shift. I fondly remember sharing her dreams and aspirations for the life she wanted to create for her sons. Our world was a brighter place with Joan in it and she will be dearly missed. May God bless and comfort her loved ones during this dificult time.

I met Joan through my wife who worked with her. She needed help with her computer so I also had the chance to meet one of her sons. Though I did not know her very well, she struck me as a kind and compassionate person and wonderful mom. She will be missed by her friends and colleagues. My profound sympathies to her family... I would have liked to have gotten to know her better.
