THORSON, JOHAN ARNDT FYLPAA
Johan Arndt Fylpaa Thorson, 84, died in Golden, Colorado September 10, 2006. Johan was born to Rev. Thomas and Hertha Thorson in Fort Dodge, Iowa on May 15, 1922. He graduated from high school in 1940 and was a World War II military veteran. He graduated from St. Oloff College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1951 and was ordained a minister, serving the Evangelical Lutheran Church for three decades in the Midwest region. He is survived by his wife Naola Lorraine Thorson Golden, Colorado, daughter Elizabeth Allen Prairie Farm, Wisconsin, daughter Mary Jackson Bellingham, Washington, son Mark Johan Thorson Houston, Texas, stepsons S. Leigh Gyvig Vermillion, South Dakota, Colonel Mark Gyvig Huntsville, North Carolina, Cameron J. Gyvig, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There are eight grandchildren. Memorial Services will be conducted Friday September 15, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 17701 W 16th Ave, Golden, CO 80401, (303) 279-5379. Donations in Johan's memory may be made to Table Mountain Animal Center. Golden, Co.
