Sister Maggie and I send our love to Barb and all the family. We, with my family and the Franciscan Sisters of our Community here in Wheaton, IL have accompanied John and Barb with a circle of love and prayer during this sacred, difficult journey.
I was happy to know more about John's life and his contributions for the good of others in his beautifully written obituary. From our conversations with him, I know that John has known and has dealt head on with suffering and loss from his earliest years - following his mother's death. We came to love John over the years - his big smile, his enthusiasm and creativity, his honesty, his great spirit. His stories involving his days in Sacred Heart Home in Pueblo were heart rending and touching. Clearly he was a survivor and much more. His strength of character and stout heart were evident even as a child.
We have learned from John and Barb as they have faced what life has presented these past difficult years and have continued to be light and blessing for each other and for those around them.
Thank you to Barb, Teri and Bev for keeping us in the loop these past weeks and for the inspiration that each of you has been and continue to be in our lives.
Our deepst sympathy and support are with Barb and with all, who mourn the loss of John from this earth. I know and believe that he continues to be with us.
