John Redmond Obituary

Redmond, John "Jack"
09/19/1930 - 06/11/2021

John L. Redmond passed on June 11, 2021 after a long rich life of exploring the globe and gliding through it with dignity and grace. Born in southwestern Saskatchewan in 1930, Jack had a zeal for the outdoors and a perpetual curiosity of the natural sciences. Jack spent a few summers, in his early years, as a cowboy working on a ranch. This led him to try his hand at ranching in Alberta. That short lived venture took him into the study of geology and math at the University of Tulsa, Stanford, and Oregon. Jack applied his PhD to oil exploration that took him all over the world, experiencing adventures that fueled the many stories he warmly shared. Remember Jack fondly…He was a class act all the way, a real "gem"…he will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; sons Mike and Marc and brother, Bill. Jack will be interned in a private ceremony with immediate family.

Just purchased a piece of art. The bottom handwritten inscription reads: Etching by Rembrandt, 1639, The Death of Mary, printed from the original plates. Purchased in Frankfort, Germany, 1957. Presented to Dr. and Mrs, John A Redmond by Eugene Maupin, November 1957.

I just wanted to know more about the piece. Thank you.
