Joseph O'Connor Obituary
Joseph "Joe" Patrick O'Connor, 87, beloved husband, father, grand father, great-grandfather, passed away peacefully January 20, 2021. Born May 27, 1933 in Juniata, PA, the son of James R. and Alice Ruth Sheehan O'Connor. When Joe was 17 he joined the Air Force and after 21 years retired as a Chief Master Seargant. He was the youngest E9 in the air force, promoted after 17 years in the service. He was NCO of the year at the Air Force academy in 1963. He served in many locations, including the Air Force academy, Hawaii and Vietnam. Upon retiring, he worked as a real estate broker and land developer.
On March 17, 1977, Joe married Virginia "Ginny" Coy and they enjoyed 44 years of a fabulous marriage. Joe was a charming, handsome, intelligent, dapper, caring, charismatic, fine gentleman and a fun-loving Irishman. He will never be forgotten and will be missed by many. His children from a previous marriage are: Joseph Patrick O'Connor, Michael O'Connor, Anne O'Connor, Kathleen Fults and Lila Burns; there are four grandchildren, Kara Fults, Joe Larsen, Charlie O'Connor, Lila Bailey; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Patrick; daughter, Lila; five brothers & sisters
A viewing will be held from 10 am-12 Noon, on Wed. Jan. 27, at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014, followed by a Funeral Mass and Eulogy at 12 Noon. Due to Covid restrictions, a private Military service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:30pm. Visit Joe's online obituary at HoranCares.com for the link to live stream the services.
