Kathryn Cochran Obituary
Kathryn W. (Kimball) Cochran of Denver, CO died tragically, a victim of gun violence and domestic abuse, on November 8, 2021 at the age of 43. Born at KI Sawyer AFB in Gwinn, MI on March 24, 1978, Katie grew up in Omaha, NE, Montgomery, Al, Melrose, MA and Denver, CO. After graduation from Manual High School, she attended the University of Kansas and the University of Colorado Denver. Katie was both a child care expert and personal chef for several Denver families. Her greatest joys were spending time with her children hiking the trails of Colorado and fun, lazy beach days especially in Emerald Isle, NC and Cape Cod. Katie's light and memory will be with us always. Katie was the devoted mother to Emerson and Cash Cochran who will be raised by their loving father, Sean Cochran. Cherished daughter to Deborah and Richard Kershaw of Denver, CO and Robert and Irene Kimball of Reading, MA. Beloved sister to Amy Kimball of Aspen, CO, Kelly Grissom and her husband, Jesse of Seattle, WA and Alexis Mastronardi and her husband, Gerald Walsh of Wilmington, MA. Katie is also survived by her adoring nephew, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Judi's House, judishouse.org, Safe House Denver, safehouse-denver.org or a domestic violence charity of your choice.

I knew Kathryn. Such an amazing person she was.
She was a sister, a mother ,a breast cancer survivor, and so much more. She cooked for my family and she will last forever in our hearts. We will forever remember her. Take an act on domestic violence and if you see it happening (or signs of it) call a hot line right away.

I never met Katie but know Kelly, who's openness, kindness and smile warms anyone. It looks like Katie has the same nature. As a sister and mother I'm so heavy hearted for you all and her sweet children. She was a warrior in life and now a warrior in peace. Thinking of you all everyday.

My heart aches for Kathryn's family, especially Emerson and Cash. Her beautiful smile and the other comments I read here reflect a beautiful soul tragically taken from this life far too soon. May this senseless crime and the suffering it has caused renew the determination of us all to prevent other women from meeting a similar end. May the light from Katie's life overcome the darkness that ended it.
