Ken,
I'm sorry for your loss. If there's anything I can do for you or your family, please let me know. I'm still working for DSD at the County Jail.

Sergeant Gillette did teach us to shoot but he also would get us in a circle and.....drop a tear gas canister. While we were all choking, teary eyed etc, he was just standing there breathing it all in. Never did figure out how he did that. As long as we remember, he is not forgotten.

Ken, I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out about it, as I've been out of town. My thoughts and prayer are with you.

Sgt. Gillette taught us all how to shoot or how to shoot better. One of his favorite sayings I will always remember is "you got that right". I started with the department in 1983 and worked with Sarge and with his son at PADF. His guidance shaped the members of the department to this day.

Sergeant Gillette was our Range Instructor who taught us how to shoot during the DSD Academy in 1985. He was a great instructor with a great sense of humor. He will not be forgotten. My condolences to the Gillette family.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of one of the greatest sergeants I knew on the Denver Sheriffs Department. In his memory; "STROKE THAT TRIGGER". You will be missed!

Peg and I were so sorry to hear about Ken passing. I knew Sgt. Gilllette from day one when I joined the DSD. He was one of the best persons I met. He liked nagging about me and my revolver instead of the auto. I wish we didn't live so darn far from Denver. Ken loved working with his DSD and was always there to help you. It's with deep and prayerful condolences to the family-we lost a great guy. He's up in Heaven and in a much nicer place. To his family and friends we are so sorry. God Bless you all. Love, Dave Upton and family

I knew Ken from his days at the Pistol Range. He was a pro and a gentleman. Rest in peace, my friend.
