Dr. Weiner was the first to diagnose my Crohns disease and gave me great comfort with some good meds and a fine bedside manner. I went for a final visit to his practice in June of 09 (I've since moved to Florida) and learned of his cancer. I'm still living as normal a life as possible thanks to his treatment and I thank God everyday for Dr. Weiner. I'm greatly saddened to hear that he passed. My prayers to his family, friends and collegues.

Dear Weiner Family,
I wanted to say how saddened I was to hear of your loss. I had only a single medical encounter with Dr Weiner, and I was so very struck by his genuine kindness and gentle and caring manner. These are things so rarely found in medicine - I found him to have a true sense of caring that seemed to come from within and to be real - and I am so very sad to hear that he is gone. What a tremendous loss for so many.

Dear Weiner Family,
I just learned today 9/17/09 that your husband, father, son and grandson passed away in August. I had called to make an appointment and they said he wasn't practicing medicine any more. No one told me until I googled his name. My sincere sorrow goes out to your family. Dr. Weiner was the best gastrointerologist I ever went to (and it took many to find him). He will be remembered in my prayers and I thank God for all the help he provided me. He will be missed by many. Julie Gunlikson, Littleton, CO

Dear Mrs. Weiner, I was so heartbroken to hear about Dr. Weiner. He was my mother's (Betty Quintana) doctor for several years, taking tender care of her until her death. He then became my physician, just this past year. He was a wonderful person, and this world is worse off without him in it, but heaven is all the better for the addition of their new angel. My deepest sympany to you and Dr. Weiner's children and family.

I am so saddened to hear about your loss of such a wonderful and caring doctor. Dr. Weiner was my doctor for several years. He was profoundly instrumental in finding out the mystery behind my illness - I am now Cancer free. Thank you Dr. Weiner for your great concern throughout my ordeal. Our prayers are with your family.

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Weiner. He was my Doctor for the hardest part of my life, when I could barely stand up from the pain. He guided me through those difficult times and I am able to function today because of his warmth, caring, and expertise. I saw him a few years ago in an electronics store and we chatted for a while; he was just as warm and engaging as always, even though he hadn't seen me in years. God bless his soul.

Ken was a resident when I was an intern and a GI fellow when I was in residency. I had the good fortune of learning from him as a teacher and role model and of working with him while on the staff at Rose Medical Center. I learned today of his passing when a mutual patient told me the sad news. It was an honor to call him a colleague and friend. My sympathies to his family and to all those whose lives he touched and are mourning his passing.

I worked with Dr Weiner when he was an intern and resident at University Hospital in his clinic at Care Center A. Ken always treated the staff with such respect and kindness. I will never forget how he and his fellow residents got together at the end of their residency and gave a huge basket of Colorado Proud goodies to the staff for all they had done for them. It was just the way Ken was. I was heartbroken to see that he is gone. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I was blessed to have known Ken Weiner. He took care of me when my quality of life was in question. He acted as Sherlock Holmes, leaving no clue overlooked as he worked to find a solution to my health situation. I will never forget his smile, his amazing sense of humor and his ability to see me as a person, not a patient with a problem. May his family be comforted, knowing that he changed many people's lives with his care and concern. And may you feel God's loving arms surround you and give you peace.

I loved working, playing, and being endoscoped by Ken. He even made the endoscopy fun!!! I strive to practice medicine with his academic rigor, compassion, and passion. Everyone he touched was brightened by his presence. My thoughts are with his wonderful extended family for whom I feel a strong fondness.

Dr. Weiner was an incredible doctor but an even better person. Working for him made me a better individual. I always knew if I had to talk to someone I could ask his opinion without being judged from golf to G.I. You will be missed. Lori, you and your family are in my prayers.

I knew Dr. Weiner when he worked at Rose Medical Center as a young physician just starting out. He always acknowledged me by name when we passed in the hall. Later, when he went to work at P/SL, he did surgery on my sister-in-law who was a patient at Vencor. She was critically ill from a bowel obstruction and he did an amazing job of saving her life. I had the utmost respect for him and the medical community has lost one of the best as well as his friends and family have lost a gentle and kind man. My symphathies to the entire family. A great loss. Linda Chappell

I was a patient of Dr. Weiner's for the past 10 years. He was so kind and compassionate with me, we connected right away. When I saw him the last time in late April he asked me to go back to his office so he could show me a picture of his family. He was so proud of all of you. He will be missed. God bless you all.

Ken Weiner was lovable because he saw the humor in the world around us. Our profession is heavy yet Ken seemed to keep the work, politics, relationships, and life itself light. He took great care of my patients. He always made me laugh and helped me not take my self too seriously. I'll miss him. Matt McCoy

Dr. Weiner always took time with me out of his busy day in the 10+ years I served his practice as a pharmaceutical sales representative. I always respected him as a one of the finest physicians I had the pleasure of serving. My best wishes for his family and peers that will miss him greatly.

I only just learned about Ken's death this morning, and am so very saddened by the loss of him to all of us. I am a psychiatric consultation liaison nurse who worked with Ken when he was the chief resident at Rose Medical Center. He was the best, the brightest, the most thoughtful and kind. I always admired him greatly as a person, a colleague, and later, as my doctor and my spouse's doctor. A man of caring and courage he will be sorely missed by me and all who knew him. My condolences to his family who he so often talked about and clearly loved so much.
