Mere words can only express the loss of someone that introduced me to the black cowboy experience which I was not aware of at all. His passion in sharing the information was contagious and even after moving from Denver to Sacramento I continued to go the bay area to support the black rodeo. Whenever I called him he answered his phone or returned my call in a short amount of time and somehow always remembered exactly who I was...that made me feel special. Spread your wings and soar my friend.

Valeria and family,
We pray that you will find peace in knowing that lLu' s love will always be with you, and that his legacy will flourish through the generations of lives he touched and nurtured. His tireless dedication to the heritage of the Black Cowboy/Cowgirl and our growth throughout the equestrian world and beyond will never be forgotten.
We will forever be grateful for the inspiration and encouragement Lu provided us in Michigan where Jessica was presented as the 1993 BPIR Jr. Princess in Derroit, and from 2004 a 2007 I served as the first African American president of a state AHC affiliated horse council.
