Lucille Truhlar Obituary

TRUHLAR, LUCILLE Homemaker and Mother, 88 Lucille Truhlar, who died December 28 at the age of 88, will be dearly missed by her husband John J. Truhlar of Centennial; her three sons John F. of Boulder, Donald G. of Minneapolis and Robert J. of Centennial; and her six grandchildren. Lucille died at the Johnson Center Nursing Home in Centennial. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2003 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 8545 East Dry Creek Road, Centennial. Born in Chicago on May 10, 1914, Lucille was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Lisle, Illinois. She was an exceptionally kind person who was much beloved by her family and friends. Lucille went out of her way to do nice things for other people. She was a volunteer for a number of community and church activities, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and playing the organ. She was a homemaker and mother for more than 60 years. Lucille and John were married on June 17, 1939, at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Cicero, Illinois, and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this year. In addition to her husband and three sons, Lucille is survived by her older brother Joseph Vancura of Dixon, IL; two grandsons John Martin Truhlar of Erie, CO and Paul Joseph Truhlar of Mount Vernon, NY; four granddaughters Sara Truhlar of Burnsville, MN, Stephanie Eaton Truhlar of San Francisco, Ivy Truhlar of Kansas City, MO and Holly Truhlar of Ft. Collins. She also is survived by three daughters-in-law, Betty Hoye of Boulder, Jane Truhlar of Minneapolis and Doris Truhlar of Centennial; and a step-daughter Samara Williams of Superior. Donations may be made in Lucille's memory to the Metro CareRing Food Bank, P.O. Box 300459, Denver, CO 80203.
