Wow ! I can't even believe that I am writing this...I don't know where to begin!! You bought my first makeup, and it was you to took me to get my ears pierced at 11 regardless of the fuss my Dad put up!! And it was you to pushed me to be tough, but still be a lady!! And you still made the best hamburgers I have ever eaten!! I remember being kids and running around the neighborhood with my Brother Johnny, Steven and Christina...boy, I wish I could go back to that time. I will never forget you, and the what an impact your whole family has had on mine. I am better because you loved me...thanks for being there for everything. I will miss our visits, and phone conversations. Tell everyone in Heaven we said "HI"...I'm sure you all are having a great time together!! Love you dearly.....Dorean

It's so hard to believe that our beautiful Miss Lucy is gone to be with God and the loved ones that went before her. So, good for her, not so good for us left here to mourn her.
I was so blessed to have Miss Lucy Lu as such a special part of my life. My only regret is that I didn't know her and have her as a friend for a longer part of our lives. I learned so much from her, laughed alot and just really enjoyed my time with her. I'll never forget Lucy.
Thank you Joanna for letting me part of your family, and thank you to the rest of the family and her friends for allowing me to be there with Lucy.
Miss Lucy, I miss you so very much-Mondays will never be the same again. I'm glad that you are not suffering any more, but wish that we had more time with you. I love you dear one.

Dearest Lucy,

What can I say...I was practically raised by you growing up. I feel so lucky that I as well as my wife and kids got to enjoy your love and wisdom for so many years. I will miss so much not being able to call you on the phone to simply talk about whatever. I will miss not being able to pick you up to take you out to dinner or to see the kids shows. Birthdays will not be the same without you. Our family has so many great memories that we'll never forget you ever. Like I told you last Saturday by your bedside...Thank you for everything you've done for me, Perla, Sarah and Stevie.

Love,

Your Steven.

It can be said that Lucy was a woman who was so strong that she never let grief and despair consume her. She always had the grace and courage to face a new day and live life. She had so many blessings in her life and lost so much in her life but no matter what came, she always remained rock solid and very loving. If you needed a shoulder to cry on or a tasteful frock to borrow or a kick in the pants to get you going, she could do it and make sure you had something good to eat too. She never closed her doors to one in need and always seemed to know what to say or do and welcomed you with an open heart. I was so lucky to live and laugh and be part of her extended family for a time. It was very numbing to hear of her passing, I know it was selfish of me to think that she would always be around. I believe it is time for Lucy to rest and to be reunited with the loved ones she lost much to soon. I will always have her with me in thought and prayers and will never forget "Dimples" or my Lu.

What a strong and loving inspiration Lucy has been to all who knew her and any who may have wandered down Galapago St and found themselves eating in her kitchen. Please know that I am grateful to have been adopted into your family ... to have laughed with Lucy and to have been loved by her.
