The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship.

--Ralph Waldo Emerson

Steve was about that, and much, much more. He will be missed on and endless number of levels.

The name Steve Klotz is synonymous with funny, caring, selfless, generous, thoughtful, kind, forgiving and beautiful -- but that is only the beginning. He always put others first no matter what he was experiencing and always had a kind word, even on the worst days. In those times when words weren't enough, he was always a presence to remind us that it would all be ok. We'll be ok, those of us he left behind, because he is still a presence. I love him as a colleague and as a friend. He will always be in my heart as the heavens have etched his name on my soul. His strength alone in the face of adversity should be a guiding beacon to us all ... I will vow that from this day forward I will strive harder to live up to the example he set, and know he'd forgive me when I fail.

It is rare to find a soul who had so much love for performance and theatre. All kinds, all types. He worked hard and we will miss him.

Steve was such a great friend, person, man, employee, human being! I will miss his gentle ways; his intellect; his passion for the theatre and life; his friendship and his love. I love him and miss him terribly.

It is rare in this world to have a co-worker like Steve who is genuinely interested in the other person - even when things aren't going well for him. Steve battled his illness with grace and professionalism - and always had a joke, a smile or something great to say about the latest show and/or song from every musical out there. I will never forget his caring, his wonderful smile or his joy at seeing someone, anyone and making them smile despite things gong on around him. Steve's spirit will always remain a special part of my life. Thanks Steve- and don't have too much fun without us.

I had the privilege of calling Steve my friend. He was a wonderful and giving person. No matter what he was gong through he always asked how you were. I will miss our morning talks and his smiling face, his laugher and the show tunes he brought into my life. I will miss him as my co-worker but I will miss him more as my friend.
