Dear, Dear Family of Steven, I offer my sympathy on the party of your most lovely son and brother. Steven was my student at Regis University for a class. The truth is, I was a bit on easy when he and another seminarian came into my Women in The Catholic Tradition class. I'm a feminist and sometimes critical of our tradition's treatment of women, and I thought, "O no, this will be hard for these young men." But, you know, Steven is so beautiful, so bright, so open and kind. We could talk, we could agree and disagree. To this day, he remains one of my favorite students of all. God bless him and keep him. He loved St. Therese of the Child Jesus and credited her for a return to health many years ago. It's strange because I, only a week ago, ran across the handout that he gave me back then. It's "My Novena Rose Prayer." I will say it again for the intentions of Fr. Steven Voss, kind and compassionate follower of Jesus Christ.

Fr. Steven was our daughter's "cancer buddy". He understood our daughter's cancer journey better than we did. They journeyed together. He gave her hope. Fr. Steven gave us hope as well with the impact of cancer on our family. Fr. Steven was genuine and the most non judgemental person. We are grateful he is at peace. We miss him and will always be grateful for his love and support of our daughter and us. We love you Fr. Steven. Our best to the Voss family...

MY CONDOLENCES to the Voss Family. Fr. Steven and I met when he was a Seminarian at St. John Paul II while assisting the Liturgy Office. A colleague of his Sister Christine while she worked for Seeds of Hope. He was a gentle soul with much compassion, and love beyond his years in knowledge and understanding for God's work in leading others to Christ. He was my Spiritual Director but most of all a friend. Granting me always his gifts from God. I was in Africa when he died and just returned Friday evening, September 16th. Otherwise, I would have been with the family to celebrate his life. I pray now for the repose of his soul. May God receive him in His arms and say, "You have fought the good fight and now my Son, I welcome you to the banquet table of the Lord. Well done, my faithful servant"!

I send my condolences to the Voss family. I can testify to the strength of will and the faith that Steven displayed in dealing with his numerous medical challenges. He fought bravely, accepted each challenge and complied with what was asked of him. He was a model for us all.

I arrived in Fort Collins just as Father Steven did and we quickly developed a special relationship. I was very glad to offer advice to him but I received so much more from him. In several very difficult professional moments, he was a rock for me to lean on. I will miss him greatly.

An old soul and a true gentleman - with a delightful sense of humor. It was a privilege to have known such a kind and humble human being. Always ready to serve and always with a smile. He will surely be missed by many.

When Father Steven was at Spirit of Christ I was always so happy when we had him for mass. He always made feel uplifted because he was not just telling you what they just said in the bible reading but how you could use it in your everyday life. He was really a blessing. I hope he asks God to help us all. I'm so sad he is gone.

Our prayers and condolences to the Voss family. I remember when Steven's mother and I cried together tears of joy and pride when both our sons were admitted to Mullen High School. We now shed tears of sadness for the loss of two beautiful souls. It was clear they served our Blessed Father well, and we are fortunate indeed to have had them in our lives.

My thoughts are with the Voss family. Teachers, like parents, are especially sad to have outlived their students. I enjoyed Stephen's days with me at Mullen High School. Special thoughts to his sister, Karen, who I coached on the track team at St. Mary's Academy.
