Sue was known as the mother of The Bookies Bookstore. A stalwart supporter of literacy, education and children throughout Colorado. Her devotion to learning was only matched by her dedication to supporting her community in any way she could through the reading of books at all ages and teaching of children by everyone around them. For fifty years she ran the beloved bookstore the same way she did from day one of its opening, with teachers and children at the forefront of her customer service beliefs. Her legacy is written on the face of every child she has ever inspired to pick up a book, in the mouths of every teacher she has ever supported in their classroom, and in the works of every employee she instilled the instinct of asking "What would Sue do?" in their interactions with the people of this world.

Sue will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her three sons, David (Jeanne), Dan (Diana), Robert (Rachel). Sue took great joy in her nine grandchildren, Charlie, Zoe, Olivia, Wilson, Ellah, Andrew, Isabella, Jacob and Luke. She will be missed by her brother Harry (uncle Bubber) and his wife Maria and son David (Susan) as well as her beloved friend Rhoda Resnik.
