Thomas Staible Obituary

Thomas Frederick (Tom) Staible, 69 of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Manteo, North Carolina, passed away on January 28, 2016 in Denver. Born in Denver to Margaret Sigmon Staible and Robert Thomas Staible on March 24, 1947, Tom was proud to be a Colorado native and excelled at mountain sports, specifically skiing and fly fishing. Tom retired from environmental science in 2011 and went to North Carolina to pursue ocean fishing, warm weather, bright sun and boating. He returned to Denver as he became ill to be close to his family and long-time friends. Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years, Emilie Ailts, children Mary (Bill) Ainsworth of Coos Bay, OR and Cecile M. Blot of Washington, D.C.; twin sisters Jennie (John) Pallet, and Julie Staible Lee, both of Denver; one grandson, Hobie Ainsworth; one niece, Anna Lee and four nephews, Jack, Joseph and William Pallett and Robert Hunter Lee. A fitting send off for Tom and his black lab, Lilly, will be held this summer near his favorite fishing stream, so that he will be with his beloved companion and they will fish for eternity. Memorial donations may be made to the Colorado Dumb Friends League or the Colorado Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Tom's favorite charities.
