Local Vegetable Farmer, Native Son
Tom Palizzi passed away quietly Thursday evening, October 18, 2007 at North Valley Hospital in Thornton, Colorado. Tom was the youngest of 9 children born to Antonio and Angelina Palizzi on July 21, 1924 in Henderson, Colorado. He graduated from Union High School, #1 Adams City High School in 1943. He married Helen Mason on February 5, 1946 in Brighton, Colorado. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2001.
A successful, lifetime vegetable farmer in Irondale and Brighton, Colorado, his interests were investing, property management, gardening, cooking, and antique cars. He was a longtime member of BPOE, Elks Lodge 1586 in Brighton, Colorado and of Assumption Catholic Church in Welby, Colorado
Tom is survived by Life partner, Geneva Houston; an older sister, Mamie (Paul) Polk of Thornton; grandson Steven (Chiho) Palizzi of Cave Creek, Arizona; granddaughter Fracesca (Jay) Bollinger of Englewood, CO; a son; Tom Palizzi of Arvada; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends, including Bill and Debbie Chaplain and Rosemary and Craig Kelly ,both of Brighton, CO
A rosary will be recited Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at the Tabor-Rice Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Fri., Oct 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2361 E. 78th Ave Denver, CO 80229. Burial will take place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Wheat Ridge, CO following.
Family has asked that any contributions be sent to the Brighton F.F.A.
