I was Bill's Bookmobile librarian for several years before he moved away from Eaton Terrace. I always enjoyed his good humor and his dog. I hadn't seen Bill for many years, but I recently left the Bookmobile, which made me think of all the people I had known in my nine years there. I am sorry for your loss.

I was sorry to see of your passing but praising God you are at peace and with your family in heaven. Thank you for that beautiful cross you gave me back in the mid 60's. I will cherish it always.
You were my father's cousin. He is up there with you also.

Dear Bill: I will miss your smile and the tears you would shed as we talked together about the gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means to follow Him faithfully to the end of this life. Your loving support and presence at Clermont Park will missed but you will never be forgotten. You changed us and you changed me forever. Until we meet again brother.

Bill was a beautiful human being and a wonderful husband to my sister Ursula. I have known Bill since I was in high school at Annunciation. I have never met a kinder person who would do anything to help his fellow beings. God bless you and May touring eternal happiness with God and my sister.

Bill Sievers was the founding pastor of St. Jude parish in Lakewood. I remember how I thought no one could ever make me feel better when a young wife and mother of four toddlers, and an acquaintance committed suicide just before Christmas one year. But Bill did. He began by saying that when he was a chaplain at St. Joseph's, he came to believe that the mentally ill were those most loved by God, because they often suffered most and in silence. His words were like a healing balm to we who were left in our own pain at her family's pain and what we understood had been her silent anquish. Bill Sievers truly was a pastoral priest and brought Vatican II alive in our parish. Our whole family remembers and loves him. Even though our children were just little kids when he left St. Jude's, they all remember him as the wonderfully kind pastor he was. We will never forget him.

My four brothers and I knew him as "Uncle Bill". I remember it was always a treat to visit him; he was always cheerful and funny. Praise God for He has brought Uncle Bill home to Heaven, and he will get to see his brother--my Father Bob Sievers. They had a close friendship and I am glad they are together now.

As Chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital, Father Seivers taught Religion Classes to student nurses and his classes were wonderful. I enjoyed our "discussions" regarding theology and he was a blessing to me. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed though the mercy of God rest in peace.

Father Sievers was a wonderful pastor. He blessed my agnostic husband during his last illness, saying at this stage in life, all blessings are welcome. He also led the rosary and gave the eulogy about a good man for my husband. Words could express the gratitude my family and I felt. because a funeral mass will be offered, I believe Father Sievers left, not the Chruch, just his role as priest. Whatever. I pray for his eternal happiness.
