Arlene Peterson Poulsen 1937 ~ 2008 On Monday, September 1, 2008, Arlene Peterson Poulsen, 70, loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother returned home to her Father in Heaven.Born on September 12, 1937, she attended school in the Spanish Fork area where she graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She married Glen Martin Poulsen on August 11, 1961. They were sealed as a family in the Provo Temple on August 11, 1978. Arlene was employed as a secretary and office manager for many years at the Utah County Health Department, Peterson Trucking, State Farm Insurance, and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where she worked until her retirement. Those she worked with benefited from her sharp mind and unique talent for planning and organizing. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served faithfully in various callings, including almost 20 years as her ward's librarian. Arlene had many talents and especially enjoyed and excelled in drawing, doll making, and sewing. Her skills as a seamstress were sought after by many, including those from various parts of the country. She had a hearty sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She reveled in spoiling her eight grandchildren and family, whom she unceasingly cared for and loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Martin Poulsen, whom she courageously cared for and served nearly seven years as he battled a degenerative disease. She was also preceded in death by her parents Raymond Franklin Peterson and Daraline Williams Peterson. Arlene is survived by her three children: Steven (Kara) Glen Poulsen of Spanish Fork, Darren (Cathleen) Ray Poulsen of Lehi, and Melanie Poulsen of Orlando, Florida; as well as eight grandchildren: Kaila, Sierra, Jada, Necia, Rachel, Emma, Erika, and Jordan. She is also survived by her brother, R. Leon Peterson of Spanish Fork. Funeral services will be held Sat., September 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Spanish Fork West Stake Center, 360 N. 650 West. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing which will be held at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, on Friday, September 5, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the Spanish Fork West Stake Center from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services.
