Barbara Sylvester Obituary
Barbara G. Sylvester passed away peacefully on June 17, 2017. She was born December 2, 1932 in Salt Lake City to Fred H. and Genevieve Vera (Jeppesen) Luckau. She is survived by Michael (Marta) Bailey, Danni Sluder, Susan (Daniel) Nielson, and Laurie (Richard) Naylor, children from her first marriage to Raymond C. Bailey. She later married James F. Sylvester (deceased). She is also survived by four of her eight siblings Kathy Sinclair, Robert Luckau, Leo (Renee) Luckau, and Michael King. She had 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
We remember our sweet mother for her gentleness and the loving way she touched our lives. In her quiet way and humble example she taught us to believe in God our Eternal Father and in our Savior, Jesus Christ and the reality of His resurrection and that we will see Mother again after we finish our own mortal lives. She protected us until we could stand on our own, taught us the principles that she cherished, and showed us always how much she loved us. To us she is the greatest example of womanhood that we could hope to celebrate and pass on to our own children, and we thank our Heavenly Father for the blessing of being her children. We love you, Mother.
We wish to express our profound gratitude to Robert Luckau who lovingly served as her caregiver during the last years of Mother's life.
A memorial service will be held in the Granite View Ward Chapel at 2675 E. Mount Jordan Road, Sandy Utah on Saturday June 24 at 2:00 p.m.

Barbara was a special lady. I will always appreciate the tender care she gave to my dear mother. In mother's last year she could'nt be left alone, and when I needed a break once in awhile, I could usually get Barbara to come and sit with mom while I went for the evening. Barbara was so kind to her, and would read to her or bring pictures or some little thing to do. She was an example of faithfulness in our Edgehill Second Ward!

I'm so sad to hear that Barbara has passed. Every time i see her, I see my Grandma , Beverly Pace. They look so much a like. She will be missed.
