Brandon Fabert Obituary

1973-2016
Brandon Dean Fabert , our loving father, brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin, neighbor, and friend, age 43, passed away peacefully at his home in Riverton, Utah, on Sunday, October 23, 2016. He was born April 24, 1973, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Sandra Hayward and Richard Fabert. He was raised with his brother Colby, in Magna and West Jordan, and graduated from West Jordan High in 1991, where he was proud to wear #18 for the high school football team. He attended Snow College in Ephraim and later Weber State University in Ogden, where he loved working for Amalgamated Sugar, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business in 1995.
He met and married Beckie Hales while working at Century Software in 1999, and had two children, Quinn Marian and Tate Jacob Fabert. The two later divorced. Brandon was known to light up the room with his contagious energy, infectious laugh and captivating story telling. He was a born salesman and went on to work successfully in sales for various high-tech companies, including Symantec and StorageCraft.
Brandon loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing, hiking, and boating. He was extremely competitive and fiercely protective of those he loved. His family meant everything to him. He adored his children and loved cheering them on in various sports and activities. He had a special bond with his grandparents and spending opening day of the duck hunt with family was one of his favorite times of the year. His lifelong best friend, Brian Sadler, was his compass and his rock and the family is forever grateful for the selfless service he and Evie gave to Brandon.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his children, Quinn and Tate Fabert; mother, Sandra Hayward of West Valley; father, Richard (Pauline) Fabert of West Jordan; brothers, Colby Fabert, Rich Fabert and Brett Fabert; step-siblings, Corey (Jen) Draper, and Camille (Roger) Spurk; grandparents, Bob and Marian Hayward; aunts, Susan Hayward, and Tami (Dave) Popelmayer; and many wonderful cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, in Taylorsville. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, in West Valley City. The family would love to hear stories and memories of Brandon. Yesterday I was given the sad news that a fellow co-worker passed away. Brandon and I started our sales careers with Century Software sharing a small office. He taught me so much and to this day I have never forgotten our long sales strategy talks. Yes his sincere laugh and smile would light up the room. To this day I will never forget his phrase when I got a bit loud on the phone "What the hell, over" followed by a huge smile. Brandon you will be missed. Our deepest condolences to the Fabert family.

Mrs. Fabert and family, I am so very sorry to hear about Brandon. I have so many memories of growing up in Magna with Brandon. As we grew older we still did things with Brian and Brandon. Camping was my favorite with Brandon, he was really in his element sitting around the campfire giving each other a hard time. I was always impressed with the love that Brandon had for his kids and he always had something to brag about with both both of them. He will be missed greatly by me and my wife Avalon and the entire Sadler family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Brandon I love you so much !
My favorite memory is when we were at grams and Gramps cabin in Manila, Utah. One morning at the cabin we were all getting ready to go fishing and Brandon comes running into the cabin with his MCHammer pants on and his mulit. He asked "grams what she wanted to take to drink in the boat,", but grams didn't hear him right and thought he swore at her, so the chase was on around and around they went until Brandon finally said "grams" just want to know what you want to drink on the boat. Grams started laughing and said" Diet Pepsi". Brandon didn't know grams short legs could run so fast. That's my most memorable moment. We love you and will miss you so much.

I went to high school with Brandon, worked with him at Century Software and we were close buddies in our early 20s. I have so many great memories of him. He was a fun and loyal friend who I loved being with. I have thought of him often and would visit his FB page to see what he was up to and was so happy to see he was a father of two beautiful children. My sincere condolences to his family. I am so sorry to hear this sad news.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all that know "Fabe". To hear of this loss, I quickly seen him in his High School Letterman Jacket smiling and telling stories.

I've known Brandon since we were young growing up in Magna. He's always held a soft spot in my heart because of this and he also reminds me of one of my own brothers. As teenagers we ran around in some of the same circles. I ended up marrying into his extended family and loved being able to stay up on what was going on in his life. When he moved to Riverton once again I was able to run into him at our kids school, the ballpark or around town. I've always loved and appreciated his passion for life and the amazing father he was. Every school event I attended he was there. Every time I was at the ball park and Tate was playing he was there. And when I would drive through the neighborhood I would always see him doing things with his kids. I will miss catching up with him and sharing the ups and downs of being a parent. He was a dedicated and concerned dad and always wanted to do the very best for his kids. I will always remember how hard he worked to be a Great dad. And I will always remember his big bright smile and his booming laugh!
Love you Brandon!

Brandon,
You were a friend to me when I was the new quiet and very shy kid at a very big new high school. You cheered me up when I needed it, and noticed me for who I was, when other kids only saw my awkwardness. Later when we reconnected at WSU you were still the guy who was my friend and cheered me on. You were a bright spot on many dark days. --- Kirsten Hansen ("Kris" Sullivan)

The memories of my family when i was a kid had Brandon in alot of them. We always went up to Uncle Bobs cabin to go hunting and fishing and my favorite memory was when all of us cousins were playing tag in the dark at the cemetery and it was pitch dark. My sister and i were hiding behind a bush and we looked out because a car was driving by and the lights flashed through the cemetery and Shawn and Brandon were pretending to be trees because they were out where they couldnt hide...my sister Nicci and i laughed so hard trying to wonder why they tried to look like trees, it is one of my favorite moments i will always remember when we were young. I will forever miss my cousin Brandon and will cherish every memory I have.
