CAROL MATSUKAWA Obituary

Carol Tomoko Matsukawa Hang Loose & Happy Travels Our beloved Carol the "BEST" Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Best Friend You were taken from us unexpectedly on April 20th, 2010.We miss you dearly, but rejoice in the fact you are totally at peace and are now making the ultimate journey. Although you are away traveling, you are forever in our hearts and on our minds. You are an amazing lady - and like the fine wines you enjoyed, you grew better over time. And while most people slow down with age, every year you became stronger, faster, smarter, and more loving. We are eternally grateful for your unconditional love, and all that you've given us (and the dogs Timothy, River, Taylor, Foxy Lady, Poco, Sunny and Beaver) We truly cherish the time we've had together, and are looking forward to the day we are with you again. Until then HAPPY TRAVELS! Love , Shig, Andy, Jon, Joi, River and Timothy J. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010, 6:00 pm at the Japanese Church of Christ, 268 West 100 South. Please join us for a reception immediately following the service. IF POSSIBLE PLEASE WEAR HAPPY COLORS AND SMILE BECAUSE CAROL'S LOVE IS WITH YOU! J Directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons.

Carol was my friend. She came to my house often to study and practice Jin Shin Jyutsu. She made everything fun, from tea to walks to study sessions. I am so grateful to have been touched by such a well lived life.

Dear Matsukawa family,
Carol was a vibrant, energetic, compassionate soul. She volunteered her talents at the Cancer Wellness House and she helped many people. I am grateful I was able to visit with her at the nutrition store recently to thank her for all of her efforts. I loved Carol and will miss her. What a wonderful life she lived!

To Carol Matsukawa's family,

I worked many years ago with Carol at Evans & Sutherland, although I did not know her well. At the same time, I could tell that she was a delightful, warm-hearted and caring woman. She was so bubbly and happy!

I was sorry to read her obituary in the paper, and I hope your love for Carol will comfort you in the days to come as you remember the precious memories you shared with her for so many happy years.

Shig, Andy, Jon, and Joi,

I was so sorry to hear that Carol is gone. I truly can't imagine my childhood without her and your family. Carol's spirit and energy are such a force that I'm sure you will all carry with you. I hope I do as well. I wish I could be there for her memorial service but please know that I am thinking of her and all of you (and glad to hear that Foxy Lady is still around).

Dear Doc and Family, I am saddened by what I read. I know that Carol is much better off than the rest of us. I still have to fill that void she has left and I know that will come from our extended friendship. Our love to you and the family, I will never forget the first time I met your wife. She had a quisine fixed for us on the banks of Beaver Creek in the Unitas. Our love to you Randy and Ileane

Carol and I rode the Salt Lake Century Bike ride together in 2006. We had so much fun that day! At the rest stops we loved watching all the people and getting all the snacks. Carol was so cute having the REI maintenance guys tune up her bike. I turned us around at 38 miles (so a total 76 miles on mountain bikes) but Carol would have done the whole 100 miles! I just wish we had gone to Egypt. We'll miss you Carol - Chris Lyon
