Craig Vincent Obituary

Craig Tyler Vincent

1932-2025

- Craig Tyler Vincent, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 surrounded by his children. Craig was born May 23, 1932 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah to Tyler Richard Vincent and Edith Anderson Vincent. Craig was the oldest of 3 children. He loved his childhood growing up in Midvale, Utah where he enjoyed many friends and living close to extended family. Craig graduated from Jordan High School and attended the University of Utah where he served as President of the Delta Phi Fraternity and graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. Craig received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah Law School and then began an incredible career as an attorney in Salt Lake City, Utah which continued until a month before his passing. He worked as an Assistant U.S Attorney for the District of Utah and spent the majority of his career as a partner in the firm Nygaard, Coke and Vincent. Craig was known for his honesty and integrity.

After law school, Craig was introduced to his sweetheart, Patricia Marwede, on a blind date. They were married 6 months later on June 28, 1962 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Craig and Pat purchased a home in Holladay, Utah and began their lives together making lifelong friends and raising their children. Although he was busy with his career and church callings, Craig always made time for Pat and his 5 children. He loved playing card games at the kitchen table, family vacations every summer, regular outings to 7-11 for cola slurpees, several trips to Europe with Pat, and spent many beautiful days on the golf course with his family and friends.

Craig dedicated his life to becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. He regularly prayed for opportunities to know who needed his help and to know how he could help them. He accepted and magnified many church callings, including service as a Bishop, Stake President and Area Seventy for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and treasured his time as a sealer in the Salt Lake Temple. Craig served two full-time missions for the Church – first as a young missionary in the East Central States Mission where he developed an unshakable testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and later served a leadership mission with Pat in Almaty, Kazakhstan. His mission with Pat and the people of Kazakhstan was the highlight of his church service and he maintained relationships with those they met and loved until his passing.

Craig had many friends, and he was a great friend. Of all his many accomplishments, Craig most excelled in his roles as husband, father and grandfather. After Pat's passing in 2009, Craig devoted much of his time to blessing the lives of his family. He continued their special tradition of taking the grandchildren to Washington D.C. when they turned 10 years old, wrote special handwritten birthday letters, and enjoyed following everyone on the Find My Friends app. Grandpa Craig was generous, wise, loyal and recognized the best in everyone. Grandpa was always up for a slurpee run, a day of golf, a game of cards, lunch at Hires, or planning a family trip to build and strengthen eternal relationships. His family will especially miss the "Weekly Reader" – an emailed letter he sent to the family every Sunday evening for the past 40 years, updating them on everyone's activities and sharing family history and gospel messages.

While we will dearly miss our dad and grandpa, we understand that death is not the end. We are ever grateful to be part of his eternal family and know his legacy of faith, service and discipleship will continue to guide us.

Craig is survived by 4 of his children: Shauna Jensen, Stephen (Teresa) Vincent, Suzanne (Brennan) Peterson and Kristen (Justin) Spencer; daughter-in-law Patrice Vincent; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Garr Vincent, his sister, Daryl Vranes, and sister-in-law, Diane (Tom) Powell. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, son Jeffrey, and his parents, Tyler and Edith Vincent.
