Dana Carver Obituary

Dana Oborn Carver 12/3/1959 ~ 8/25/2008 BOUNTIFUL- Dana Oborn Carver passed away peacefully on August 25, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family, after her long and courageous fight against Breast Cancer. Dana was born December 3, 1959 in Ogden, Utah to James and Susanne Oborn. She married Paul James Carver January 25, 1980, and they were sealed together as a family, with their children, on September 23, 1989 in the Ogden, Utah Temple. They began their family in North Ogden, Utah and later moved to Bountiful, Utah where they raised their three children. She loved sewing, scrapbooking, cooking, shopping, and most of all spending time with her family. She was an active member of the LDS church, and loved the time she spent serving in callings with the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and Activities Committee. She always gave it her all, and found joy in serving others. She was full of compassion, love, selflessness, and was the perfect example of a Christ-like person. She worked for Intermountain Healthcare for 16 years in various positions and leaves behind many friends and co-workers. She is survived by her husband Paul, her children and their spouses, Brandon (Lindsie), Jordan (Julie), and Kelli (Dan Stuart), her parents, James Oborn and Susanne Oborn, her sister Vicki Lynn Oborn, and brother Scott Roger (Susie Oborn). The family wishes to thank Dr. John Ward and Rosie Conder APRN at The Huntsman Cancer Institute as well as Intermountain Healthcare Hospice doctors and nurses for the loving care they provided during her last days upon this earth. Cathy, thank you for everything you did. A viewing will be held August 29, 2008 at 9 a.m. at The North Canyon Stake Center in Bountiful (965 E Oakwood). An online Memorial/Guestbook has also been set up at www.memorialutah.com Funeral Directors: Lakeview Memorial Mortuary.

Dana was a beautiful person, inside and out. I've been touched by her valiant battle with so strong an enemy - although she must have suffered greatly, she was always gracious and a joy to be around. I will miss her sweet smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends - God bless you.

I have known Dana for 16 years now. We quickly became friends when she started working at McKay-Dee Hosp. PAS. She was a real "get-it-done" kind of person. Very hard working, strikingly beautiful on the outside, and even more beautiful when you got to know her. She was loving, kind, and funny. And she will be missed. I am so blessed to be able to call her my friend. To her family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please know that you were her world. Everything she did was for you.

Dana was truly an amazing person. We became friends in the 7th grade as locker partners. She took me skiing my first time. We both moved to N.O. in the 9th grade and continued our friendship through high school. I never knew a more beautiful, genuine person both on the inside and outside. How lucky we are to know someone like Dana.

Dana was a magnificent person and a remarkable friend. Her daily acts of kindness and her “IMCRAZY” attitude towards herself, and life will always have a special place in my heart. Her love of others and dedication to everything she did, not matter the circumstance, is an example I hope to follow, and pass onto my own children. She taught me lessons of understanding, compassion, and the periodic, essential, “lesser profanities” that when used as only Dana could, would make any bad situation a funny one. We love you Dana

I feel so privileged to have known Dana. She was the most warm-hearted & beautiful person, always willing to lend a helping hand at work, or just be there as a friend. She was a wonderful asset to Intemountain Health Care & will be very difficult to replace. She touched so many lives in so many ways and will be greatly missed. She was so courageous during her battle with cancer and somehow, still managed to display her beautiful smile. My thoughts and prayers are with the Carver family, you have been so strong.

There are times in our lives when we question why and feel so lost and alone, but if you could see your loved one on the other side, your tears of sadness would become tears of joy. Dana has fullfilled her mission in life with passion, love, integrity, character and joy. I hope that you find peace in knowing death is re-birth a doorway back to those who have gone before. We're all called back based upon the need God has. Go forth in peace and know in your hearts that we'll be together again. My prayers are with you.
