Daniel Geis Obituary

Daniel Eldredge Geis

1966 to 2023

Salt Lake City, UT - Dan had a heart bigger than all outdoors. Without question or pause, he would give his last dollar to help a stranger or loved one in need.

Dan was born to Joan and Don Geis on July 21, 1966. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He grew up in Holladay, graduated from Olympus High, and the University of Utah. At the U, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Dan had many talents. He was an athlete. He was a competitive swimmer and both played and coached water polo. Many would say he had calves of envy. He was an artist, a photographer, a fly fisherman, a chef, a guitar player, and expert tile layer. Dan was his dad's primary care giver for the last several years and in doing so, provided his dad with a quality of life that was priceless.

Dan passed away on April 27, 2023, due to a sudden and brief illness. He is survived by his mom, Joan and his siblings Liz, Rick (Colette), Sue (Rob), Bill and Jenny (Tim).

A celebration of life will be held for Dan this summer.

My heart goes out to Joan and Dan's brothers and sisters. May you all be comforted at this difficult time. Dan was a great friend for many years starting with little league baseball back when we were 10 or so years old. Unfortunately I lost contact with him over the last several years, but I'll remember all of the good times we had together. RIP Dan.
