Daniel James Thurgood
1983-2025
American Fork, UT - Daniel James Thurgood, age 42 of
American Fork, UT, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 2nd, 2025 ending his hard-fought battle against cancer. He was born on June 7, 1983 to Glen Stoker and Brenda Judd Thurgood of Highland, Utah. In his youth, he was active in his ward Young Men program and earned his Eagle Scout award. He graduated from Lone Peak High School in 2001, and served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington Seattle Mission from 2002-2004. He received his bachelor's degree in 2009, and his master's degree in 2010 both in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University, and had a successful career in the transportation engineering field, working the past several years for Horrocks Engineers.
Danny married his sweetheart and eternal companion, Tiffany Miller on July 12, 2013 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, and they have been blessed with 3 amazing boys who are the loves of their lives. Danny is an amazing husband and father, and his family has been his highest priority, and the source of the greatest joy for Danny and Tiffany. He loved doing everything together as a family, including taking memorable trips to Disneyland, watching BYU football games, and building Lego projects with his boys. Danny was also a great athlete, and loved playing with his brothers and friends on several basketball and softball teams over the years.
Throughout his life, Danny has epitomized what it means to wear out one's life in the service of others. He has always been willing to help his family and friends with whatever projects they could use help with, such as helping his siblings move, building sprinkler systems, making yard improvements, finishing basements, and on and on. He adored his parents, and was especially devoted to helping them with projects around their home and yard from the time he was young all the way up until his last few weeks on this earth. Danny never liked to leave a project unfinished, and was always found working on something to get it done so he could move on to the next project. He has a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and His atonement and resurrection, and he shared that testimony while serving faithfully in a variety of church callings throughout his life.
Danny is survived by his wife, Tiffany, his three sons James (9), Weston (7), and Logan (4), his mother Brenda, siblings Glen (Michelle), Stephanie (David), Gary (Jennifer), Steven (Holly), and Amanda (Jared), and 47 nieces and nephews. Waiting to receive Danny were his father Glen, and his brother Michael, and we find peace in thinking about the joyous reunion they are now having.
