Pat, You and Darrel have always been so welcoming to us. When we think of him we see a big, warm smile. He was a kind man.

Our dearest, fun-loving, and caring brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Darrel was a very special part of our family. We will miss him chatting and laughing around the table with Grandma Great Guthrie, Arlene and McKay. We will miss his smile and his chuckle after he'd tell a sly joke on the down-low, We will miss how he made us feel loved and important when he'd come and visit us from afar. He always welcomed our family into his home at any time. He supported us in our pursuits, and always set a good example. We are proud of him. We will miss him. Until we meet in heaven. What a grand and happy reunion that will be!

What a blessing it was to live across from this family in Simi Valley. Great people, great friends, sincere and honest people. WE had some great times and memories. One story must be preserved was when Darrel and I were in the middle of the road visiting with Thor by our side. Jokingly Darrel said, "Kill" and Thor nearly took me out. I thought your dad was going to have a stroke when he saw the anguish Thor was going to take our on his friend. Funny and unforgettable moment. Love this man and Pat.

Darrel was a good friend, ward member, and golf buddy. The happiness level of any gathering raised when Darrel was there, contributing good humor and friendliness. He was a masterful teacher! RIP good friend!
