David Aldous Obituary

David R. Aldous

1984-2021

David Ross Aldous was a most unique person. He was born August, 26, 1984, with Prader-Willi syndrome, involving a defective 15th chromosome. It created a condition of mental retardation, challenging behaviors and the one condition people remember the most: never being able to satisfy his hunger no matter how much he ate.

Even with all these issues David had the biggest, most infectious smile. A smile that lit up the room and the people around him. He had many struggles and hardships due to his condition, but in spite of this, he was a very kind and forgiving person. He loved his family, the trips they took, and the many gatherings they had throughout his life. He loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all the friends he made with the other members. He loved doing baptisms for the dead and did so in many different temples throughout Utah. Whenever he was out amongst other people, he sought out other handicapped people and expressed his love for them. His sensitivity and innocence knew no bounds.

His life's passion was Power Rangers, for the simple reason it was good overcoming evil. He saw all their movies, shows, and has a huge collection of Power Rangers memorabilia.

David is survived by his parents, John and Susan Aldous, his brothers Aaron (Sachiko), Ethan, and Jesse (Jodi) and his sister Lindsey Soares (Fabricio), his maternal grandfather, Robert Root and numerous nieces and nephews.

David's one desire was to be like everyone else, and in this earth life that was impossible. On March 27, 2021, he peacefully returned to the Kingdom of Heaven with all the rights, powers and privileges held among all the faithful and good people who have also valiantly served the Master.

David's service was held Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Lehi City Cemetery where he was laid to rest afterwards.

I'm sorry I never got to know David! He sounds like a delightful person! Our Daughter, Jennifer, has PWS as well. She is 41. We know the hardships and joy that come from these special individuals. You have given David some marvelous opportunities here on earth, and yes, he will have many more on the other side. Sending love to your dear family. Curt & Diane Jolley

We always had a great admiration for John and Susan and their patience and unconditional love for David. I remember once at a church basketball game a group of firefighters suddenly came running into the building. Someone had called 911. We all had a good laugh.
