Dee Alan Belcher
1950 ~ 2018
West Valley City, UT-Dee Alan Belcher returned home to his Heavenly Father on Aug 29, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 5, 1950 to Everett and Verna Belcher and was raised in the Ft Union area of Salt Lake City, Utah. In his youth he served an LDS mission in the Southern US States. Dee and Michelle Gill were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 29, 1977. Together they shared many wonderful memories. They loved going on cruises and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dee held a variety of positions over the 37 years that he worked for the Granite School District. He also ran his own sprinkler installation business for 40 years, where he made many lifelong friends. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, and loved being in the mountains and outdoors with his family. Every BYU football game day, you could find him with his sons Cheering on the team. One of his talents was storytelling. When he was young, neighborhood kids would gather around the porch to listen to his stories. In more recent years, his grandkids would gather around him as he told them stories from his childhood. Dee loved his grandchildren and delighted in planning unique gifts and activities for them. The kids knew they were always welcome to come sit on his big chair with him. Dee had great faith in his Heavenly Father and had many Christlike attributes. He always thought of others before himself and would take the shirt off his back to give to a stranger in need. He will be remembered for being a hard worker, mild mannered, a friend to EVERYONE, and never complaining when times were hard. He is survived by his wife, Michelle, children Christopher, (Nancy), Bradley, (Candace), Brandon, (Camille), Stephanie, (Jeffrey), and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Hunter Stake Center 3930 S 6000 W West Valley City, UT. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm prior to the services at the church. For more information see

We are kind of hermits and spend most of our time in our house. But, the one great thing that happened to us when we moved in to our home was meeting Dee. Not a kinder, more gentle human was ever born. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

I've always felt that a sign of a person's character is the amount of people who will miss him when he's gone. The line to the viewing was so long, we couldn't stay to pay our last respects. To Michelle and the rest of Dee's family - our hearts are broken with yours. Heaven gained an amazing angel - and we will miss ours here on earth.

With deepest sympathy on loss of your love one. May it bring comfort you to know that he will return to the days of his youthful vigor as promised at Job 33:25.

Our dear friend Dee. I remember all the times you helped Gary moved. Mostly I remember the rassin you gave Gary about the ruffled hot pink shower curtain I hung in his bathroom.
We giggled about that all the time.
Thank you for all the help you gave me when Gary passed away..
Love you, Jackie Bradshaw

Dee could light up a room with his laugh. We all loved him at Sprinkler supply. He always had a story to tell. He and I would always talk about our jobs in the church and what was going on with the Jazz, Utes and Cougs. We will miss him dearly.

I worked with Dee at Sears in the 70's. He was a great man, with a heart of gold. I am sorry for your loss, but know that he is doing great things beyond the veil. We hope that we can meet you one day and reminisce about Dee's great sense of humor! Sincerely, Steve and Janet Pocock Brigham City, Utah

So sorry to hear of Dee's passing. That he was "a friend to EVERYONE" is so true and I feel really lucky to be one who he made feel like I had a true friend. I'll always remember him for making me a little kit (even though it was a prank) to learn the locksmithing trade. RIP Dee. You will be missed...

A man who had a great influence on me. A man who spoke so nicely of all. His hands so massive but a heart even larger. I will miss you Dee. Godspeed!
