Doris Hoskins Obituary

Doris C. Hoskins
1936 ~ 2012
Our loving mother passed away peacefully Thursday, January 11th at home surrounded by family.
Doris Cade Hoskins was born on February 27th, 1936 in New Madrid, Missouri to Jacob Henry and Irene (Presson) Cade. Married Robert H. Davidson in 1960, they moved to Salt Lake City (later divorced). Married Frank (Ric) Riccobono in 1973 (widowed). In 1982 Doris married her best friend Lawrence (Larry) J. Hoskins.
As a young girl Doris spent much of her time caring for her 4 brothers. These early lessons in motherhood taught her patience and compassion; traits she would later use raising her own children.
Doris had many hobbies including sewing, cooking, gardening, and bowling with her silver haired ladies. As a gifted quilter she created many beautiful works of art. Family was her greatest passion in life; simply put family meant everything in the world to Doris. The definition of mother is "to watch over, nourish, and protect maternally" all of these things she did unselfishly until her dying days.
Preceded in death by Husband Larry; brothers Don and Larry. Survived by her children Robert (RaNae) Davidson, Kathy Westergard, Leigh Anne (Walt) Hansen, and Frank Riccobono. Brothers Jerry (Shirley) Cade and Harold Cade. Grandchildren, Elsha, Boe, Levi, Jamie, Adam, Jake, and Hannah. Great Grandchildren, Jordan, Alexis, Tanner, Savanna, Dominick, Wyatt, and Jordan.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday January 18th, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary in Murray. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 19th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane. Interment will follow at Murray City Cemetery. I absolutely adored Doris! I worked with her at UNI and she kept us laughing all the time. Her charm, humor and strengths were amazing. She was a woman we could all learn from and love.

Mom if you are even a little bit proud of me it is because of the lessons you taught me or let me learn on my own. I feel like I have so much of you in me and I will be forever proud to say "I get that from my mom". I am full of gratitude for the example you have set, the love you have given, and the wonderful memories I have of you that will get me through the difficult times ahead. Please know your family will be OK, we will watch over one-another. I will never stop missing or loving you but am so happy you are finished with this fight and are finally at peace. I love you?
