Our dear Earl B. We will always have fond memories of you in our hearts. Growing up with the Jones family across the street was a joy; tending our Nipper, all the wonderful chats. We know that Bob and Netnet were among the first to greet you as you walked through the veil. What a awesome reunion it must have been.
Carolyn and Allen we are sorry we weren't able to attend your father's service as we had just returned home from our mission that very day. Your dad meant the world to the two of us. We love you

President Jones was one of the kindest, genuine men I have known. Growing up in Granite Stake he showed interest in me as a person. I was surprised by the many kind acts he did for me and my family when he certainly didn't have to! I will always remember his friendly smile, twinkling eyes, and heart of gold.

Earl was one if the kindest men in our Lincoln/Forest Dale wards. He frequently would open his home for ward gatherings where he would pay for a band and delicious steak dinners for everyone. His generosity and open-hearted personality will long be remembered.

When I moved in next door to Earl in Sugarhouse, it first seemed we didn't have much in common. I was in my late 20s and he in his 80s. We were not of the same faith. But it didn't take long for me to realize that I was wrong. We were both night owls whose tv screens would be flickering through our windows in the dark. He had a great sense of humor and love of travel and his source of deepest pride was his family. It didn't take long before it felt like he was someone I'd known my whole life. He had a special light about him that would shine on those in his presence and is one of the kindest people I've known. A cherished memory was bringing my newborn son, Julian, over to meet him. Earl held him and wrote him a letter the next day that I've kept in his baby book ever since. I deeply regret not spending more time with Earl in the last years of his life. He will hold a place in my heart forever.
