Emma Prince Obituary

Emma Jane Green Prince

June 10, 1928 ~ February 2, 2023

Our beloved mother, Emma Jane Green Prince, 94, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023. She returned home after a full life well-lived.

Emma was born on June 10, 1928 to Charles Robert Green and Blanche Jones and spent her childhood years in Huntington, Emery County. After graduating from Emery High School, she moved to Salt Lake City where she attended Quish Beauty College. She enjoyed working part time as a beautician from a shop in her home for 40 years. She married her sweetheart, Kenneth Prince, on November 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed 65 happy years of marriage, making their home in Sandy, Utah.

Emma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings including Relief Society and Young Women's president. She was also very involved in community service, serving as an election judge and registrar, as an area chairman for Pennies by the Inch, as a founding member of the Kultura Club and in many PTA responsibilities.

Emma loved people. She was fun and sociable and had many lifelong friends. She loved to cook, entertain and hold bridge parties in her home. She was a talented singer and loved performing as a member of the Treble Aires singing group. Travel was also a passion and she enjoyed seeing the world with her husband Ken.

Her most proud accomplishment was that of being a mother. She loved her 5 children and their spouses, her 33 grandchildren and her 58 great-grandchildren. She delighted in their accomplishments and looked forward to their visits.

Emma is survived by four of her children: Rob (Diane) Prince, Centerville, Alan (Michelle) Prince, Sandy, Colleen (Mitch) Bailey, Heber, and Karen (Tim) Powell, South Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her son Kenneth Dwight, and her 5 siblings, Wilma, Edna, Lilas, Reginald, and Dennis.

Her family is deeply grateful for the loving and kindhearted care provided by the Harmony Home Health and Hospice team at Solstice Senior Living in Sandy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 am, with a viewing prior to that at 10:00 am, at the LDS chapel at 275 East 10600 South in Sandy.

Thank you for the wonderful legacy that you have left behind and for welcoming me into your home as a close friend of Robs family. I have been touched by the love that they have shown me, and know that you taught them by example. Go well and enjoy the work as it continues, with your loving husband. Lots of love, Erica

I heard about your mother's passing just yesterday, Feb 19, or I surely would have been to her funeral. My family moved to our home on Sneddon Dr 54 years ago, so I know all of you children.
Both my husband and I grew up in Emery county so we bonded with your parents immediately.
Many hair cuts were received from your Mom. My love and condolences to all of you and yours. Kaye Peacock . (my George passed 9 years ago)

I just heard about your mom's passing on yesterday Feb 19 or I surely would have been to her funeral.
I met your mom when my family moved to Sandy 54 years ago. Both my husband and I grew up in Emery county, so we bonded right away with your parents. So sorry that I missed her funeral. Know that I loved her. I knew all of you as children. I never had a better hair cut as the many I got from your mom. My love and condolences to all of you. Kaye Peacock . Aunt Emma was one of my favorites. I remember her cutting our hair for all of us Condie girls and our mom, for so many years. She did my hair in an up-do for my 9th grade graduation. She performed a most memorable and loving service in doing mom´s hair, make-up and nails to help her look beautiful for her viewing and funeral. We were too young and shocked when it happened to fully appreciate her help. It was something we never could repay. Years later, when I had my back fusion and was in rehabilitation, she somehow found out, and came to visit. She was so kind and considerate! I am sure there are many stories like these that can be told about her. We are better for her being our lives. We pray that sweet memories can dwell in your hearts to bring you comfort and peace. What a remarkable lady! With Love, Kelly Condie Thompson
