Floyd Allen Obituary

Floyd Kent Allen

1943 ~ 2025

Floyd Kent Allen was born in Salt Lake City on March 3, 1943, to Floyd Ray and Elaine Hennefer Allen. He was the second child of four (all sons) that made up the infamous "Allen Boys" of Harrison Ave. Sadly Kent passed away at his home in Nussloch, Germany, on October 7, 2025, with his three daughters (Amber, Anya and Juta) at his side. His amazing wife Irmgard had passed away in the same room in June of this year.

Kent attended East High School, graduating in 1961. Always involved he had a great time in high school and led a very active social life (aka lots of dates). Kent enjoyed the company of a group of loyal friends who had fun wherever they could find it, occasionally perhaps exceeding the limits of propriety.

As a member of the United States Army, Kent developed very successful military career eventually retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major, proudly defending the nation in Viet Nam and Desert storm. His military focus was living up to his oath defending the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It was while serving his nation in Germany that he met his wonderful wife and life partner Irmgard.

Kent was a proud father of three daughters, Amber Smith (Rob), Anya Gruber (Gundolf), and Juta Schweickert (Frank). Kent adored his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Craig (Ann) and Scott (Carolyn). He is predeceased by his wife Irmgard, his parents, brother Dwayne (Skip) and his wonderful group of high school friends.

Services, including military honors, are being held privately in Germany.

Kent and his family lived on one end of Harrison, and our family lived at the other end many years ago. He was always smiling and fun. Hope each of you will know what a fine man he was, even as a teenager! Kendra Divine
