I went to a conference about wild horses with George my freshman year of college and have enjoyed seeing him in the Berryman club activities since then. I was looking to reconnect with him this year and was startled to see an obituary come up online. George was kind and very smart, always happy to see me when we ran into each other on campus at USU. I will miss him. The conference we went to together changed my life and I feel like I have a bond with those few that I shared the experience with. I wanted to tell him how I'm taking a plant identification class that he warned me was difficult but rewarding, and to take him up on his offer to skateboard with him while I rode my ripstick around. I hoped to hear about what he was looking forward to after college. I wish the best to his family and close friends; my life only touched his briefly but I'm grateful for the time and goodness and humor he shared with me. His smile sticks in my mind as I write this.
Thank you, George, for your friendship.
