Gordon Moody Obituary
Our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Nov. 5, 2012 following complications of old age.
He was the sixth of 13 children born to Marvin Juel and Marie Ethel Thurman Moody on Sept. 1, 1926 in Woodrow, Millard Co., UT. He married Sylvia Marie Derrick Dec. 21, 1963 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Gordon served an LDS mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina; He graduated from the University of Utah in Economics; Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy. He founded Utah Helicopter, Inc., the first helicopter company in Utah. He was also a champion and pioneer in the helicopter industry as he worked for Bell Helicopter Textron. He wrote and published the World Energy Update, reaching 14,000 readers worldwide.
Survived by his wife; six children, Stephen H. Moody, Marianne M. Roy, Ronald D. Moody, Jon D. (April) Moody, Michael D. (Johanna) Moody, and Paul D. (Katrina) Moody; 14 grandchildren and one great-son; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sat., Nov. 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Willow Creek Stake Center, 2350 E. Road (8600 So). A visitation will be held Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So. and Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens. I lost my wife 1 year ago. so I know
some what you are felling.
It was fun talking to Gordon about
the farms in Delta when we did busness
togeather.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Moody family! Gordon and I were always good friends from many years ago and I shall always treasure his humor and his wisdom. I have never met anyone quite like him and shall look forward to a future time when we shall once again laugh and enjoy one another's company. He had a great and positive impact on my family in Arlington, TX.
