Guy Evans Obituary

1956 ~ 2014
Guy Michael Evans returned home to his Heavenly Father on October 30, 2014 after a year long fight with brain cancer. We know he is reunited with his dear mother, Carol, and finally free from pain and worry. Guy was born December 24, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He attended Skyline High School where he played football, sang in Concert Choir, and then graduated in 1975. He later earned his Associates Degree from Salt Lake Community College. He loved to ride his motorcycle, water ski, and eat peppermint ice cream. Guy was employed in sales of electrical equipment and gave the best customer service. He was a hard worker who never stopped until the job was done-whether it was yard work, housework, or a remodeling project. He was often found after a family party washing all the dishes by hand.
Guy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission in Scotland where he made life-long friends. He served faithfully in many church callings and loved his Heavenly Father with his whole heart. He was always ready to help anyone who needed him. Above all he loved his eternal sweetheart, Lori, and will undoubtedly be watching over her and all of his family: his father Ray (& Mildred) Evans, his brother Gordy (& Pam) Evans, his children Cameron (& Lisa) Evans, Brandon (& Megan) Evans, Bonnie (& Shad) Anderson, Jennifer Evans and his 8 grandchildren. Guy also leaves behind numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him and remember him forever.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 3rd at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Centerville South Stake Center, 270 N. 300 E., Centerville, with a viewing beforehand from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Will always miss his contagious smile and charitable attitude. His corny jokes and big brother like association. Missing you.

I am so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. I worked with him at CW Silver and then Energy Mgmt. Over the years I would see him once in a while and get one of his great big smiles and hugs. We enjoyed talking about our kids and grandkids. He was a wonderfully genuine man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Guy was a good friend , dedicated employee, and a brave man. What a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by many! I thank God for the meal and conversation we shared at the meeting in Napa, CA and our family never stopped praying for him and his family. Guy has inspired me and I hope I can be the man of faith and character that he was.

Dear Lori and family Guy touched a place deep inside my soul. He was a light to me on days that seemed dark. His smile could light up the whole world and it did light up mine. When I first read the Email informing me of his passing I felt as thou a piece of myself had gone. I just walked away from what was happening and sat myself down. Then as I remembered him his smile his laugh his kindness I felt a great feeling of piece and warmth about myself. I then knew the world may have lost a Great Man but Heaven now has a very special Angel to look over all of us. I will miss him so but I will rejoice in knowing he is and always will be looking over us with a smile that will brighten the days ahead.

Dear Lori, I was so very sad to read about Guy. He was just a very wonderful person. It was a delightful surprise (twice) when we met at Lava Hot Springs. I hope all will be well with you and your family, and you have our most sincere condolence.
