Helen Proctor Obituary

Helen Meier Proctor 1904 ~ 2004  Helen Meier Proctor age 99, passed away February 21, 2004 in St. George, Utah. Helen Meier Proctor (a long time resident of Magna, Utah and more recently Thayne, Wyoming) was born October 20, 1904 in Kimberley, Utah to Adolph James Meier and Margareth Burns Graham Young. She was raised by her grandmother, Jane (Jennie) Gordan Graham Young, after her parents deaths. She attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in teaching. She taught school in Magna, Utah. She gave up teaching to marry William (Bill) Thomas Proctor. Helen and Bill were married July 9, 1927 in Provo, Utah. She loved her family and eagerly anticipated their visits. She loved to read and write poetry; and to discuss  politics. Helen is survived by her son, Jerry (Hazel) Proctor, Sequim, Washington; daughter Saundra (Owen) Smith, St. George, Utah; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by parents, spouse, sisters Ruby Poulson, and Maud Schneitter, and brother Champ Meier. Private graveside services and internment held at the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery, West Valley City, Utah.
