Such a wonderful man. He worked so many hours to help the Salt Lake Sister Cities program and the friendship between the Salt Lake City government and the Chinese Association of Utah.

As I got to know Hubert in the Parleys Third Ward, I was always impressed by his graciousness towards me and my son, who visited him with me. He always took care to make us feel not only welcome, but like honored guests, always greeting us with respect, and with refreshments. He was also so justifiably proud of his children and their accomplishments. I am glad he was able to be closer to them for a time recently. His tender feelings for his dear departed Jean also instructed me about a father's love. I am a better man for having known him. I extend to his family my heartfelt condolences and regrets at his passing, and feel a loss that he is gone. My faith tells me that he is in a better place and at peace today.
