James Moore Obituary
1928 ~ 2017
James Michael Moore was released from mortality on March 25th, 2017, His long battle with debilitating health and excruciating pain is over.
He was born August 14, 1928, in Montreal, Canada, to Russell James Moore and Susan Pasnik. They returned to the US early in 1929. His parents divorced when he was two years old. He lived here and there in New York and New Jersey with members of his mother's European family. His family life was seriously fractured. He was adventuresome, creative and full of curiosity. Near the end of World War II, he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he had the opportunity for extensive schooling in electronics, radar, meteorology and other technical skills. He never lost his love for the Marine Corps!
He became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in October 1971. His sometimes turbulent life was replaced with a new life of love, service and joy.. Twenty-one months later, by divine direction, he was introduced to Donna Jean Costelllo Freeman. They were married in the Oakland, CA temple on June 28, 1973, seven weeks from the day of their first meeting. His four children- Debra, Sharon, Michael and Ann and Jean's two children-Steven and Carol, were sealed to them.
With deep devotion and love for the Lord Jesus Christ he served in many capacities in branches, wards, stakes and temples in the Church. He has profoundly influenced the lives of many, both young and old. His power to bless their lives and bring them closer to the Savior will not end with his passing. He will be greatly missed and eternally loved.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8th, at the Lakeside First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 131 South 1600 West, Provo, Utah 84601.
