Jeffrey Scott Lewis 1/25/1971 ~ 7/14/2007 Jeffrey Scott Lewis returned suddenly to the presence of his Heavenly Father from his home in Riverton, Utah on July 14, 2007. Jeff was born on January 25, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Hilton Lewis and Jane Laughlin Lewis. Jeff graduated from Bingham High School in 1989. In May, 1993, Jeff married Lisa Crandall (later divorced) and adopted her daughter Arielle as his own, on July 13, 1994; Riley Jae Lewis came into the world and forever changed their lives. Jeff's one special love of his life was his beautiful daughter Riley, she was everything to him and he loved spending quality time with her. Jeff's special love for children made him a fantastic uncle to his nieces. He enjoyed playing with his nieces Jenna, Jacie, and Jadalyn. His special uncle Jeff big bear hugs will be missed. Jeff loved boating, camping, football (especially the Denver Broncos), reading books, and just being outdoors. He loved animals, especially his ferrets and his parents' dogs and cats, and they loved him. He started his own business (Jeff Lewis Siding) in 1992, took great pride in his work and enjoyed working with his hands outdoors. Jeff was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. His generous heart was always willing to help others in any way that he could. You could always depend on Jeff. Jeff was an active member of the LDS church and served with a special calling to teach the young children. On July 14, 2007, Jeff received a mission call for service in our Heavenly Father's kingdom and he willingly accepted the call for service. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. Jeff is survived by his parents John and Jane, siblings Johnny, Joseph and Julianne, Janet and Scott, and his beloved daughters Arielle and Riley. A viewing and tribute to Jeff will be held at Jenkins-Soffe funeral chapel in South Jordan at 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10400 So.) on Fri. July 20, 2007 between the hours of 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sat. at the LDS Parkway 3rd ward chapel at 10200 S. and 3200 W. in South Jordan, UT beginning at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral. Dear Lewis Family,
I had the honor, as Primary President, to work with Jeff the past 2 1/2 years in Primary. I have always seen the love and dedication that Jeff has had for the children in his Valiant 12 class. He not only was their teacher, but he was their friend. Jeff had a way of seeing the positive in every child. There were many times he pointed out to me things that I needed to know about certain children. How grateful I am for his devotion to his calling.
I will miss Jeff's sense of humor, his smile and his kind words. Primary will not be the same without him.
