Dear Family
Judy was one of the finest people I have ever known and worked with. I knew her when I served as a State PTA officer, when I was a Democratic candidate, from the Women's Democratic Club. from the legislature and from Voc Rehab. She was smart, articulate, compassionate, loyal, honest, sincere, fun and delightful to be around. She did so much to help the disabled community and we all are beneficiaries of her beautiful legacy. I truly loved her and will greatly miss her.
With sympathy

When I think of Utah Mental Health, I think of Judy Buffmire. She provided leadership and advocacy for mental health. Judy was a friend to persons with serious mental illnesses. She should be remembered for all the good she accomplished. A true friend to so many.

Judy Ann worked for several years to pass a bill that provides equal insurance benefits for medical and mental health. When the bill finally passed the Utah legislature in 1999 (?), all the legislators stood to applaud Judy. She was a fierce advocate for the underdog!

Judy was a wonderful person and I really enjoyed getting to know her and work with her on her first campaign. She truly was a representative that found out what her constiutents wanted and represented them very well in the State Legislature. She will truly be missed by so many people.

Kathy,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing, but happy to know that she spent her last years with you and your family in Portland. My brother-in-law, Bryan Holladay, served in the Utah House with your mother for seven years and thought so much of her! She was his favorite Democrat. I remember how kind she was to me during our high school years.

Although I only met her once many years ago, I recognized her as a very sweet, caring and intelligent lady. Your loss is shared by many in the state of Utah. May God be with you.

Judy used to be my boss when I worked for Utah State Vocational Rehab and at the Disability Determination Services. Judy was a great boss and went to bat for me when things went aray with one of my supervisors. Judy help me find other employment at our Voc Rehab Vocational Eval Unit which really saved my life and my career as an employee for Utah State Government. I will forever be indeted to Judy for comming to my aid in time of need. On another more positive note, my wife and I just happened to be staying at the same Hotel as were Judy and her husband in Cancun in 1991. We spend many fun times and trip with Judy and her husband. To the Buffmire Family in your loss of Judy. I send my deepest sympathies and most sincere condolences to the Buffmire family at your loss. The family and Judy are in my thoughts and prayers.
