Twila,
I have fond memories of Kevin "jazzing" up the hymns in seminary! I have lost track of many since high school. I am sorry to hear of Kevin's poor health and passing but I am glad to read of his family joys and of the joy he brought to others by using his great talent! I hope you and his family have peace and comfort at this time.

Carol Anne and family,
I have fond memories of Kevin and his willing heart! He came several times to Copper Hills High School, at my request, to talk to the students there about careers in music. His experience as a musician was just the right thing for our students to hear about as they contemplated seeking a career in professional music themselves. Kevin was always able to make it real to them. He also helped us a great deal with our MIDI Lab due to his experience with Electronic Music and his willingness to help.
I also remember his playing and performing for many stake Sweetheart Balls over the years in the old Welby Stake and hearing him play the organ for meetings in the old Welby Stake Center - this would have been in the days of President Andrew Allison, his brother-in-law.
I am sure, even though Kevin had so much struggle with his health that you will miss him but he is in a better place.
With Love,
Kristin Hayward

Grandma Rockwell,
I love you for being fun and loving my children. I will always consider you my friend and if you need chaos, our door is always open. Well, actually it's always locked, so no one escapes, but we'll open it for you. Oh, and tell J.J. to wear the Beattles tie every once in a while. Your family is the best.

I just heard about Kevin's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I always enjoyed the time I worked with Kevin during one of his music store stints. We could usually keep each other laughing most of the time. I'm sure by now he's got all the keyboards in paradise hooked up to each other and the music's never been better!

Carol, Annie, Gina, JJ, Caitlin and Twila: My prayers and thoughts are with you. I was saddened to learn of Kevin's passing. But then I realized I know that it was Heavenly Father's plan and I know that there are no more headaches and no more pain for Kevin. I have joy in my heart because I know without a doubt that Kevin has gone to prepare his heavenly home for his family. I know this, because Kevin was not only our neighbor for many years, but also our home teacher.
I first met Kevin and his parents in 1981 when we moved down the street from them. I used to go to the Rockwell's to visit Twila and trade a bottle of home canned blackberries for a haircut from Twila. She would then make a pie for Kevin and is father. I remember the wonderful news that Kevin was going to go on a date with Kathleen Allison's younger sister. It was an exciting time. From Twila I learned that Kevin was going to marry Carol. I attended the bridal shower and remember thinking how cute little Annie and Gina were. Carol was definitely an asset to our ward and neighborhood.
Kevin played the piano and boy did he play!! In 1987 I was working at a nursing home and they were having a fashion show for the little old ladies. I asked Kevin if he would like to play the piano during the fashion show. As the little girls were modeling their outfits, Kevin made the piano come alive with the sound of the little girls bouncing and walking. It was amazing! I can still hear that music - it was like the way that Tigger from Winnie the Pooh has that magical bounce and you just know that music - when you hear it - that's the Tigger bounce!
Kevin got a job at the Salt Palace playing the music during the Salt Lake Golden Eagles games. Being a big hockey fan - and having season tickets for many years - the Kincher family was there for every game. From across the ice, I could see Kevin and we would wave at each other. His choice of music was excellant. During the time outs or hockey fights, Kevin played a little bit of a song from tapes. Kevin played alot of my favorite songs and it was a real highlight when he would play a song from the country band Shenandoah. It would never mean anything to anyone else, but to me, it made me smile and I knew that Mr Music Man Rockwell was playing that song for me.
Kevin was our home teacher, and he also baptized Mark and Melissa. (Another ward member baptized Leslie). Kevin was an example to me as well as my children. Years ago when Carol was in the Primary presidency and Kevin was playing piano in Primary and I was a primary teacher, he came up with the nickname Sincher Kincher for me.
Kevin was a wonderful musician. I had hoped that by taking piano lessons from him, that I could learn to play as well as him. I did take piano lessons but I never got any good. The one song I learned to play was "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". I didn't play it very well but oh how Kevin could liven it up and we played a duet together. I fumbled at the keyboard but it didn't bother Kevin, he just reminded me to practice and keep on playing.
Kevin has been a wonderful friend and neighbor. Long after I moved out of the neighborhood, we still stayed in contact with the Rockwell family.
I will always remember your trip down to San Diego and our day at the beach.
I have so many more memories of this wonderful man. I will always treasure my friendship with Kevin. I have truly been blessed many times over.
My prayers are with all of you. I love all of you. Thank you Carol for the love, friendship and support you have always given me.

Carol,
I'm so sad to hear that you lost Kevin so unexpectedly. It is a great loss to those who loved and knew him. I'm sure the little primary will never be the same for those kids. I remember Nellies wedding so well a lot because of him playing and singing in the background.
With sympathy.

Dear Carol and Family,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend Kevin. Kevin and I worked together in the musical instrument business at Guitar City for over 10 years. Kevin and I became great friends, and had a great association for over 26 years. Last Friday, May 9th, Kevin stopped by my work to visit me. He brought me a drink and a candy bar, and we visited for a good 45 minutes. Kevin was always kind to me and fun to be around. I will forever be grateful for that last visit, and for his friendship. Kevin talked of his family often, and loves each one of you deeply. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time, and always.

I was saddened to hear of Kevin's passing. It made me think of all the great times we played in the Lehi High School Band. Calgary and all the parades and concerts. I have incredible memories of times in the many bands we played in with Dick D., Lynn N., and Kenneth S. I am glad that on my last trip to SLC I called Kevin and we met for an hour and talked about old times. My love to his family.
