Leo Wood Obituary

Leo Walton Wood, 95, beloved husband, father and grandfather, including five great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully at his home on April 27, 2014.
He was born in Malad, Idaho on February 7, 1919 to James C. and Menatta A. (Walton) Wood. He married Doris Mae Riches May 14, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
He served in the Armed Forces during WWII and later followed working for many years at Douglas Aircraft and as an Engineer for Sperry Univac (Unisys). He expressed his love, dedication and commitment to the LDS church, as well as neighbors and community by serving as assistant ward clerk of the Canyon Rim Third Ward for many years. He enjoyed participating in many of the ward's Boy Scout activities and always looked forward to their annual Wind River outings. He loved fishing, bird watching, camping and all things in nature and the outdoors. Some of his most cherished memories were most certainly of visiting Yellowstone National Park with his brother, Keith, as well as many camping trips with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Roesch and Susan (Paul) Williams; grandchildren, Kerry (Caitlin) Hosken, Danielle Hosken, Ashley Ferre, Jamie Thomas, Tyler (Riley) Thomas, Dannielle Williams; brother, Keith Wood and sister, LaRue Leatham, as well as five great-grandchildren and beloved companion, his dog Bella. Preceded in death by his wife, Doris and brother Delbert Wood
