Lori Morgan Obituary

1954 ~ 2018
Kaysville, UT-Lori Josephine Morgan was born on August 21, 1954, in San Francisco, California, to Betty Josephine Smith and Joel Dean Perkins. Lori lived a life devoted to sharing God's love and created a world full of meaningful relationships. She passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2018, in Kaysville, UT.
Lori grew up in Provo and Duchesne and graduated from Utah State University, where she met the top bowler in their class, her absolute best friend, husband, father, and grandfather in the world, Ramon B. Morgan. They were sealed for eternity on August 28, 1975, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Lori was known as "amma" to her seven grandchildren, who adore her, and whom she loved with all her heart. Lori was also known as "best friend" to anyone she crossed paths with. She found immense joy and fulfillment in serving and embracing ALL. She loved quilting, gardening, volunteering, and continuously praying. Her ultimate masterpiece was the immaculate weaving of kind words, beautiful notes on lovely stationary, baked peanut-butter fingers, and sacred, intimate acts of compassionate giving.
Love is her lasting legacy. Mom gave the warmest hugs. Her focus was always on the one she was with and she brought out the best in others. Her green thumb has touched almost every flowerbed in the state. She was a devoted friend and would look for any excuse to throw an elaborate party, or celebrate a significant event or accomplishment. She gained strength from others, but was an anchor to all.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother, father, and step-father, Donald K. Dunkley, and her brother Dave Dunkley. Lori is survived by her husband, Ramon B. Morgan, her four children: Erin Massey (Bryan), Paige Burgin (Michael), Michael Morgan (Bridget), and Trent Morgan (Megen). She is also survived by her treasures-her seven grandchildren-Brooks, Morgan, Ben, Claire, Henry, Graham, and Eliza.
We love you mom and we will see you every day in the tulips, lobelia, pansies, and the countless lives you have touched, for good.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7 at 11:00 am at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 South Main Street, Kaysville. Visitations will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street and Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com

Ray,
My family and I are praying for you and your children to be comforted in this challenging time. I am so grateful for the way that you and Lori raised your son Mike. He has been a bright light in my life, and my dearest friend. I loved serving with him in Argentina, and he did the best job of sharing immense love with the people there. I know that he gained that capacity to love and serve others from you and your dear wife. May you be granted peace and comfort.
God bless you.

Lori was the epitome of Christ-like in all her actions and what she did and said. She was genuine in every way. She will be missed. I remember meeting her for the first time in the 1980s with her uncle Paul Smith. From that meeting in her beautiful Kaysville home she made me feel like her friend. A few years later we moved to the Kaysville South Stake and I and my family were able to get to know her family better. What a blessing she has been in my life and how sad I am that she isn't just a phone call or a visit away. The Lord is blessing you now, Ray and your family. You shared her with so many people and those people are better for having had her as a friend. I believe she is Celestial Kingdom bound. Ray, your love and support allowed her to reach out to others.

My sister Annette Marett, considered Lori one of her very best friends in High School. I was two grades ahead of Lori and my sister, but remember what a sweet, kind and loving person she was. I doubt she had an enemy in the world. We saw her on occasion after she moved to Kaysville and us to Farmington,
and got to receive of her warmth and smile again. We are so very, very, sad for her entire family and friends who morn the loss of such a great person. We feel for the loss of someone so dear to all of your hearts.

Lori was unique in every way. It often occured to me that everyone she met was her friend and she always showed interest in everyone around her. In spite of her tremendous talents and abilities, she had an understated way of doing everything with charm and humility. She quietly went about doing good every day of her life. Lori touched everyone she met and they were better for knowing her. I personally express my deepest sorrow and love for her family at this time. Lori will be missed tremendously but remembered always. My heart is very heavy.

Lori's life was the most genuine Christ-like life one could have. During one particular service project she and I and another friend were asked to do, Lori found a way to make it a meaningful teaching moment, just as our Savior would have done. The time flew by because we were being taught by the Spirit. That is quintessential Lori. We are all blessed who know her.
