Mark Blackham Obituary

1931 ~ 2013
Salt Lake City, Utah-Mark D. Blackham, 81, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of November 7, 2013. He was born on November 15, 1931 in Ely, Nevada to Milton Truman Blackham and Ora Sophia Bradley. Pop's example of love, service and testimony will provide us strength throughout our lives. He has the innate ability to make everyone feel loved. Pops was very proud of his family; his wife Renee (Wiggs) his children Scott (Shauna), Kent, Traci (Michael), Brian (Sonja), Michael (Missy), and Leslie (Shawn) and grandchildren Nick (Michelle), Chris, (Kris), (Danielle), Brittany, Kelsey, Elder Maxwell Wilde, Ivers, Liva, Hazel, Ezra, Hoggan, Bella Jo, Ruby Renee, (Tay), Samuel, twins Kobe and Alec, and great-grandson Paxton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Max. We appreciate the extraordinary care Pops received during his long hard journey the last few months.
A visitation will be held Monday November 11, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 S. Albright Dr. (2145 E.), Tuesday November 12, 2013 at noon with a visitation prior to the services from 1045-1130am. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

So sad to learn of the passing of "Brian's Dad." Even though I didn't know Mark or Renee very well, somehow I felt I did. A lovely couple and a wonderful family. A sweet gentleman. Sincere sympathy to you all.

Renee and family,

Our hearts go out to you at the passing of this dear man. He blessed our lives and our children in so many ways. We have never known a kinder, gentler man. His constant powerful love and influence will always be remembered. Renee, you and Mark have been such great examples to us in every aspect of your lives. Thank you and may God bless you in every way always. John and Patti Wittwer

Mark was one of the kindest, gentlest men Bill and I knew. Our family was so blessed to have him in our lives as our family grew from three to eight members. We are so glad for the friendship we have had over the years with Mark, Renee and their children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Dear Renee and Children,
I am so sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I have loved him for so many years. When I was a teenager, I tended for Mark and Renee. I loved their family and their kids. Mark was so kind and loving. He would walk me to the door after tending to make sure that I got home safely. Renee was my Laurel teacher. She taught me so much. I claimed both of them as my second parents and have loved them dearly. Mark will forever be etched in my heart, and I know that if we all live to love the Savior as Mark did, we will be with Mark in the eternities. I am so happy to have known this wonderful man. May peace and joy be with his family, and especially, you, Renee.
All my love, Kathy Talbot

Dear Blackham Family:
I worked with Mark at the Welfare Square Bishop's Storehouse for 10 years. He was a giant of a man. There are not enough good words to describe what a wonderful person he was. I loved him dearly. It was my privilege to have know him.
May God's choicest blessings be with your family at this time.
