MICHAEL CARNLEY Obituary

Michael James Carnley 1952 ~ 2010 Michael James Carnley, 58, passed away November 23, 2010 at his home in Sandy after a courageous three year battle with metastatic melanoma.He was born on September 19, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to James O. Carnley and Catherine I. Sharples. He graduated from George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi. His family moved to Wyoming where he attended Northwest Community College and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Wyoming in 1976.He was employed by Cody and Powell Hospitals as a pharmacist and EMT. Mike worked for Intermountain Health Care for the last 26 years. In 1984, he began working at Pocatello Regional Medical Center as Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services and eventually moved to the Salt Lake area as Director of Pharmacy for Cottonwood Hospital and was presently employed by Amerinet as Director, Pharmacy Specialist. Mike enjoyed snow skiing, water sports, scuba diving, island hopping and sailing. He met Linda Andrew in Pocatello, Idaho where they married on June 18, 1988. Mike and Linda have four sons, Nathan (Sharolette) DeLeon, David DeLeon, Sean Carnley and Matt Carnley; grandchildren, Alexa DeLeon and Jantzen Cerrillo. He has one brother, Marshall S. Carnley and wife Lyla, stepfather, Bruce Sharples, one niece and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Carnley and Catherine Sharples, stepfather, Robert Dick. Services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy. The family will receive friends Friday, December 3, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, and one hour prior to the services. Mckall especially had a special bond with him he was so caring when she was in the hospital he spent a lot of time checking on her it meant the world to her.
