Monette Nielsen Obituary

Monette Call Nielsen

1953 - 2023

- Monette Call Nielsen was born on January 30, 1953 and passed away on December 22, 2023 from terminal illness, at age 70. Even though a failing body took her away from this world, her loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew her.

Monette is survived by her husband Robert Nielsen, her mother Dorothy Call, her sisters Cindy Call and Melinda Reese, her brother Steven Call, her step-children Andrew Nielsen, Mary Lyn Nielsen, Lawrence Nielsen, Beth Ann Dunford, her children Elaine Lindstrom, Kristin Nielsen, Sharon Standiford, Stephen Nielsen, Cameron Nielsen, and Lynae Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Call, and her son, Nathan Nielsen.

Monette was raised in Centerville, Utah. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving a full time mission to Japan. She studied at Ricks College (BYU-Idaho), and graduated with an Associates Degree in Speech Therapy. Monette and Robert married on March 9, 1979. They were married for 44 years and lived in West Jordan, Utah, where they raised their children.

Monette's kind heart and generous spirit were evidenced by the deeply caring way she served her community. She sought every opportunity to serve others, treating everyone with kindness. Monette especially loved spending time with family and friends. One of her greatest joys in life was being a mother and grandmother. She delighted in every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories.

Monette was incredibly talented, eagerly sharing those talents with others. She enjoyed going to the temple, seeing movies with her friends, listening to and creating music, engaging in discussions with her book club, and hosting charming themed tea parties with beloved neighbors. Monette's unique personality, boundless creativity and endless love shined brightly in everything she did. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the River 2nd Ward, 1380 West 6785 South, West Jordan, Utah. I remember when you was born and they named you close to my name. I always thought that was pretty special. I have loved keeping in touch on Facebook. Your just as wonderful as your Mom, Dorothy Call. Enjoy your time in heaven with family there. See you soon in heavens time. Love MinNette

Nielsen Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. My prayers and condolences are with you at this time.
I will miss being at my Momma's home, and Monette being there "brainstorming" one of their teas.
I will miss her cooking for the teas on the ones I was happy to attend.
