Nathan Aiken Obituary

1935 ~ 2020
Nathan "Nate" Wilford Aiken, 84, passed away very peacefully May 5, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in South Jordan, Utah. He was born December 30, 1935 in Bingham, Utah to Wilford Henry Aiken and Ebba Juliet Stevens. Nate attended Granite High School and graduated from Olympus High School, Class of 1954. He then went on to further his education at the University of Utah and served 5 ½ years in the Air National Guard.
Nate married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Lee Woodhead, on March 8, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed together for time and all eternity.
He learned to work hard in his youth and carried that with him throughout his entire life. He worked in the grocery store business, in real estate as a Realtor, and finally in what he liked to call long term real estate sales.
Nate loved spending time with his family and they all have cherished memories of the time spent together. Nate was a great friend and loved by many. He was also an avid Utes fan and passed that passion on to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings, including working with the youth, Bishopric, leadership mission, and Branch Presidency in two different long-term care facilities.
Nate is survived by: his beloved wife, Nancy; Son, Gregory (Sara) and daughters Linda, Pam Tucker, and Marce (Chris) Sorensen; brother Tracy (Beverly); 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gene, his sweet daughter Carrie, and one granddaughter.
The family expresses their gratitude to the nurses, techs, and staff at Intermountain Medical Center Dialysis Services for their years of care.
A special thank you to Canyon Home Care and Hospice for their loving service.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 12:00pm at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.

So sorry for your loss. I met Nate while working for Intermountain Dialysis. He was so kind and appreciative of the care I gave him. He loved his family and he would light up when he spoke of them. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to rub shoulders with such a great man. My prayers are with your family at this time.

Nate was a positive influence in my life. He was a force for good among all of us who had the chance to associate with him during our childhoods. He was a great friend to my parents Judy and Cal and I send Judy's love to Nancy.
