Nathan Lance Obituary

Nathan Riley Lance

2000 ~ 2021

Our son and brother Nathan Riley Lance unexpectedly passed away in a motorcycle accident on November 10th, 2021. Nathan was born May 17, 2000 in Murray, Utah to his parents Tony and Suzy Lance. He is survived by his parents, siblings: Brandon, Jessica, and Sean, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dogs: Duke and Dixie.

Nathan loved life and loved his country. Nathan loves his family and has a firm testimony in his faith. He loved aviation and was working towards his commercial pilot certificate and hoped to find a job flying planes. Nathan loved the outdoors, and had a passion for motorcycles, which he got from his dad and grandpa.

Nathan served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He learned many great life lessons while serving the people in Canada and further developed a love for his Heavenly Father.

My sweet Nathan was always willing to help by providing a lending hand to others whether fixing something or doing anything asked of him. Nathan always watched over his family to take care of anyone. Nathan was selfless and made friends with everyone with showing kindness in all he did. He will be missed by many.

There will be a viewing held as a celebration of his life at the South Cottonwood Stake center located at 1250 East 4800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. All are invited to meet and greet the family.

Prior to the funeral services, which will be held at the South Cottonwood Stake Center, located at 1250 East 4800 South, on Monday, November 15, 2021, there will be a viewing from 9:30 am – 10:45 am followed by the funeral services at 11:00 am.

Interment will be at Elysian Burial Gardens located at 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Nathan has left a huge hole in our hearts which can never be filled. We find comfort in the knowledge we will see him again as families are forever.

As I didn't know Nathan or his family, you may wonder why I want to express my sincere condolences to all of you. From what I read in his obituary, I learned what a fantastic young man he was, who deserves recognition for the wonderful life he led! As cliche as it may sound, the Lord must have an other mission in mind for him. I am sure he left all of you with a void and a pain in your hearts that cannot be filled for a long time. May Heavenly bless all of you with His peace and love, to see you through this time of sorrow.

What a beautiful choice young man Nathan was. We loved watching him ride his motorcycle around the neighborhood and would always wave at him. He was always so cheery and friendly. His care free spirit was inspiring and we are so grieved by this loss. Surely, the Lord needed him because of who he is. What a beautiful boy. Know that we are thinking of you and love you and pray the comforting spirit of the Lord be felt by all who knew him. Through time we pray our hearts will heal. God bless you - Raland & Salina Brunson

I am so sadden to hear of Nathan´s passing. I remember Nathan as a quiet sweet fourth grader. He was so respectful and kind to others. He always had a smile. May your happy and wonderful memories of Nathan bring you peace in such a difficult time.
