I just saw this obituary. He taught me organ lessons when I was a youth. That's almost 50 years ago. I still appreciate what he taught me so many years ago.

Mr C. was a fantastic music teacher. He once directed a musical performance by his a cappella ensemble (1980-81) using only his ears as visible gestures for his conducting. The dignitaries who watched this performance could not solve the puzzle of how the group was being conducted; as no visible gestures were being made (except his ears). I will always remember Mr C. as a great example to his musical students! - 1980-81 Jazz Member Ensemble

Thank you so much for sharing your Dad with so many people. He truly was my favorite teacher. I had four classes from him and would have taken more if I could have. He was always so kind and generous and certainly made us all feel needed and capable, even if we weren't. He instilled in me a life-long love of music for which I will always be grateful. He made high school worth it in so many ways, and his Christmas Eve concerts were the perfect way to really inspire and feel the Christmas spirit.
I send you my love and condolences, it is never easy to say goodbye to someone you love so much.

Dear Rebecca, Tom and family,
JoAnn and I were away when Paul passed. We regret not being here to celebrate his great life with you. May you continue to enjoy and appreciate the uniqueness of his service in the world of music--always more interested in others than himself. His spirit will linger in the hearts of many students and musical friends.

I never met Mr. C, but I have been blessed to know his son Tony. I've seen them both play the piano beautifully. I can tell that Mr. C was loved by those close to him. My condolences to the C family, may your grief be eased by the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father and His great and wonderful plan of happiness.

Mr. C was a favorite of mine at Highland High School. I have fond memories of him from A'cappella Choir. He was my piano teacher and I learned so much from him. He was a great all around person.
I remember he was sooo proud when he finally got his son, Tony, after his 3 girls. I'm sure he's happy now, that he's with his beloved Bonnie.
To his family, your dad and grandfather was a great man. No one will ever replace Mr C. Till we meet again.

Mr C. was my first organ teacher. He knew how to accurately judge one's learning pace and style. He always encouraged me and lessons were a delight. His Christmas Eve organ recitals were always packed. His energy level was endless, it seemed. He inspired in me a love for the organ that has led to a professional career of performing and teaching. I have much to thank him for. My deepest condolences to his family.

Paul was an incredibly gifted educator. He commanded respect, not with fear or intimidation, but with kindness, great competence and love. I always felt that he was a friend and that he wanted the best for me and all of his students. He always got the best out of us!
